Yes, I'm still pregnant.

CAUTION - seriously cranky hormone-induced rantage about to take place! Read at your own risk.

It's Monday the 15th at roughly 9:30 am and I am now officially 5 days overdue. This is no surprise to anyone but me. I was SURE I was going to be a week early. I have to say, I'm getting to the point where if one more person asks me if I'm excited, or how I'm feeling, or have I had the baby yet, I might need to do some serious violence. So, in the interest of world peace, here are the answers:
-No, I'm not excited, I've had over 9 months to get used to being pregnant and now I'm done. Maybe when the baby comes out I'll get excited again.
-I am feeling exactly the same as I have been feeling every day for the past month; my back hurts, my ribs hurt, my hips hurt, and I'm tired because I can't sleep for more than 2 hours at a time due to frequent peeing and the need to change position. Changing position for me is like what doing a somersault in place is for you - impossible to do without waking up completely, ripping all the covers off, removing all the pillows and then restoring everything back to how it was and waking your sleeping companion in the process.
-and lastly, obviously, I have NOT had the baby yet. I promise to notify interested parties within 24 hours of the blessed event. It is up to the rest of you to activate the phone tree and get the word out.

RANT OVER.

In other news, I found a sculpture artist that I think is rather cool. He calls himself Monty Monty. See www.montymontyart.com

He takes antiques, curios and vintage items like spoons, pieces of a steam iron, wooden utensils, bits of pipe and so on and reassembles them into new shapes. He uses mostly metal and wood and he restores the individual pieces in the process. Also, he doesn't weld. He finds creative and non-destructive methods to assemble the bits. He says his art is inspired by Jules Verne. If I had the money, I would totally buy something from him.

here are some of the pieces I saw at a gallery in Bodega Bay over the weekend:
