Can she do it?

So, first lesson I learned from Play Date? I really can't write a teenage relationship. Or at least, not the one I need to write. Skye can flirt Colin's pants off and break his heart, but her actual boyfriend... there's like NO chemistry. None at all.

Second lesson: apparently it is possible to write about the abduction of a twelve-year-old by a possible sexual predator like it ain't no thing. Huh.

All in all, I found that while my writing last night was really tight-paced, emotional and right-feeling, this morning it's blander than cornflakes without sugar and I don't know why. Oh well. The mantra is "you can't edit a blank page", so I'll keep churning it out, even if it is, currently, crap. Maybe I'll be more in the mood on the rewrite.

And now to the subject line, which is "Can she do it?" and by 'it', I mean 'break the 50k barrier in a single bound by tonight'. 'Cause that's the plan. Nano winner, TONIGHT!

The plan is made slightly more difficult by my plans to go to my mother's birthday lunch today. But only slightly. I have faith in me.

To 50 000 words and more! (Oh yeah, finishing Play Date is my new goal for November, preferably next weekend.)

nanowrimo, skye
