prideful?
honestly, it has nothing to do with pride.
it's a fear. embedded deep.
stubbornness, no. pride, no.
i'm not proud of my weaknesses...
that which includes wearing my heart on my sleeve.
if pride had anything to do with it,
i'd never know what it means to love.
i'd never know what it means to hurt.
pride could have saved me the pain.
pride could have stolen my joy.
and now, pride won't keep me from love.
only fear.
