SARAHBETA RULES
Over the past few months - ever since coming onto the Veronica Mars fanfic scene in February 2006 - sarah_p has established her reputation as a triple threat within the fandom. She's got a great comedic voice, wicked beta skills, and she's incredibly hot. (That last one is TOO relevant! Shuddup. :-P) Initially, she said she'd only agree to beta fics in exchange for hot and sexy picspams. (I seem to recall a picspam of Johnny Rzeznik once upon a time ... ) However, the picspam bit? Only happened like once.
So, I feel that it is in the best interests of my mindtwin to have her rights represented by someone who understands how much she really does have on her plate right now. After all, if she's putting her mad beta skills to work every day, when is she going to find time to write her own pieces of awesomeness?
We've discussed this a bit and effective August 1, 2006 (or whenever it is that Sarah returns from vacation/camp/etc.), the following rules must be followed for those who dare to DREAM of a sarah_p-beta.
COMMANDMENTS OF THE SARAH-BETA
ONE - An email requesting a beta must be sent to lizzy.sarah@gmail.com at least 24 hours before sending fic itself. If twenty-four hours have not passed (even if it's been twenty-three hours and fifty-nine minutes) since this initial email, no beta will be completed, regardless of prior arrangements. Within this email, an approximation of length and a "due date" (if any) for when you want the beta returned to you are required. At least a few days are required to complete the beta. A response will be sent as soon as possible regarding the feasibility of the requested beta. It is up to the beta (and her mindtwin-agent, herowlness) to decide to whether or not she will have time to complete the beta by the requested day/time. All decisions made by the beta-and-mindtwin/agent will be final and the deicision not to beta may be made for any reason, and these decisions are final.
TWO - A picspam is STRONGLY ENCOURAGED in exchange for the beta. ONE photograph per 500 words with a minimum of 15 images. The topic will be decided by the beta, but suggestions are welcome in the initial beta-request email. No guarantees will be made that one of the suggested topics will be specifically requested by the beta and/or mindtwin-agent.
THREE - A maximum of one fic per author can be in the "beta queue" at a given time. No exceptions.
FOUR - A maximum of five fics (total) will be in the "beta queue" at once. No exceptions.
FIVE - At this time, no new WIP's will be accepted for beta. sarah_p already has arrangements with multiple authors (ayelles, herowlness, reve_silencieux, and vm_summer) to beta their new chapters regularly, and she does not have the time to commit to another multi-part piece at this time. If and/or when she decides to beta new WIP's, that information will be edited into this space.
SIX - In that same vein, single chapters from WIP's will not be betaed if they are not being regularly betaed by sarah_p.
