#1: The first part of McCain's speech totally ripped off Hillary's traditional "I'm in it for so-and-so" speeches, telling the story of people he's met on the road. Only he didn't do it nearly as well.
#2: "Education is the civil rights issue of our generation." Spot on, Senator. Maybe you should appoint some justices to overturn
this, which has virtually guaranteed segregated education for generations to come. "We're going to tell bad teachers to get a new job." Good luck with that, given the teacher shortage, you moron. I'm not sure most Americans or McCain realize that the "failing schools" they keep talking about have to accept basically anyone (like me!) because of the crappy pay and working conditions. Blame bad teachers all you want, my friends, you're never going to get enough good ones, unless you listen to the evil unions and up the pay and better the working conditions. And speaking of not having enough of a good thing: if there were enough good schools for everyone, your CHOICE mantra wouldn't be necessary, Senator. Choice and competition will always mean some kids lose out. Get left behind, if you will.
#3: Is he really hawking this bipartisan, we're-all-Americans stuff after last night? Really? REALLY? Where were you last night when all your friends were mocking the other candidate? I get that's how these things roll, but COME ON. Not buying it.
Also: the camera just panned to a woman wearing an enormous elephant hat. Ridic.
