Anyone stuck for some decent reading material? Track down a copy of ILIUM by Dan Simmons...
It's a beautiful symbiosis (if that word can be used in the context of a book) of Homer's Iliad, Shakespeare's sonnets, Proust's la recherche du temps perdu, Orson Wells' Time Machine, some Tolkien, Quantum Physics, Astronomy, Human Behavioural Studies and of course the author's wild imagination. A great piece of story telling only let down by the fact that's it's the first part of a two part volume...
