This, that, and this again

So Naobi Noisette is something big in the South African/French movie scene. It's a difficult industry to get into. People strive for years to get in, suffering knock-back after knock-back. Eventually managing to get seen by the right person at the right time and slowly clawing their way up the ranks and eventually burning out just as they reach their goal...

These are the stories I have heard. This is the reality.

Uh-huh. It's a funny old world. By chance I bump into someone who has been working her arse off to get noticed for two years. She mentions that they are in need of a Runner for a week. For R450 per day. I have nothing else to do so decide it's worth a shot and offer my services.

Two weeks later I eventually get the time to sit down again. I've been paid R750 per day plus overtime and Naobi has spoken to me once and phoned me twice trying to persuade me to move to Cape Town and take up a job with her!!!??!

Terribly hard to get into the film industry don't you know?

PS. Why isn't there a 'mood = smug'?
