mission trip was great, i don't feel the need to recap it all b/c many of you were there. but i'll share cool things. im lazy, when it comes to the normal mundane tasks of my life, but when i painted that air duct i painted my hands off, helps is my number one spiritual gift i love doing little tasks to help out, but i realized this only shows up on mission trips or when its good for me and that i can be working for god by the silly tasks i have come so lazy about, so i guess i don't have to go away to be serving and it doesn't have to be a big task.
i met the coolest kid ever at western heights. his name is darell and he is eight, i went to pick him up at his house and then i thought him to spin the basketball on his finger and then i was walking with him to crafts and he told me had jesus in his heart, i said me too, and he still had questions i answered them and explained to him how to be best friends with God. then one of the western heights girls came up to us talking and asked darell if he was talking about what happened to him last week at vbs and he said, "you mean, when i sprained my ankle on the basketball court?" and she was like no, when you got saved. kids are cute. his brother james was crying when we took him home that day. then the next time i was there he was mad at joe and said he was mean and i told him about how jesus tells us to pray for our enemies and i prayed with him a few times over the span i was there. it was cool to see a little kid so open to learn and to see his big smile after we talked to our father. i talked to some other cool kids, i felt when we left those kids they had been showed love. and that was the cutest game of steal the bacon i've ever seen. just walking around there opened my eyes. its one thing to know their are places like that, but to be there is amazing. when we first went to pick up kids i stumbled on a piece of glass and so i threw it in the conviently placed dumpster next to me, and i kept walking to realize there was pieces of glass everywhere. i saw some kids jumping with joy when they were given a friad tv wire to play with. when me and nate were out walking on the streets we both were silent and both thinking the same thing, it was cool. i wanted to give up all i have. thursday night was expierenceful, i had underestimated a few middle school boys. what some people talked about was painful to hear, but their stories made me hopefull. and then my toe got shoved in the seat. i got hurted many a times this trip. and as any trip there was great goofyness and halrity ensuing and colored barf.
and then it was my birthday, which was a lot better than expected. happy birthday was sung to me a lot and in jappanesse. i got more mall clothes. and i made nick watch hoilday in the sun, hey! it was my biRTHDaY.
