My life is kind of crazy right now, hence the lack of entries. Quick summary: Charles came out to visit last weekend, which was awesome. On Friday, we attended Beth's gypsy songs recital, after which there was a typical impromptu party at our apartment-- lime vodka shots, parlor games, etc. On Saturday, we went to my cello teacher's birthday party, which definitely included lightsaber battles (heehee). After singing at Trinity on Sunday, we spent an idyllic afternoon in the Hoosier National Forest (there are some obscenely cute pictures on facebook). On Monday, we went to Music History lecture and investigated the comic book exhibit at the Lilly Library. I had a great time, but his visit did cause an extension of the post-recital and -exam slacking period. I am now, therefore, trudging through practicing, classwork, 6 grad school applications (I never realized how long it could take just to prepare recommendation packets and have IU send transcripts), and 2 out-of-town gigs. I think I just need to realize that I can't completely take time off at any point between now and graduation without either preparing ahead of time or paying for it by going insane in the following weeks.
On a side note, I have reached the acceptance phase of the grieving process, and have invested in a new ipod. I will probably be extremely anal-retentive regarding its care and keeping. Thought processes on this subject have definitely included GPS and homing beacons.
