This is an episode related fic (she's *so* good at those) for one of the *slashiest* episodes in the series (definitely in the top four, IMO), Knightmares. Michael's in an explosion while investigating a crime and wakes up with no memory of KITT, the Foundation, or Michael Knight. He thinks he's still Michael Long, Los Angeles police detective. And he wants no part of anything to do with the Foundation. Not even KITT. Michael's angry and hurting and just raw edges all over. KITT's hurting but concerned about Michael and their partnership above all else. And they're both just *perfect*!
It's a fantastic story! I was supposed to "beta" it but only succeeded in flailing and making inarticulate squeaky noises at her about it for two days. So go read!! ::shoo hands::
I was going to give a link to the episode on hulu as part of this recommendation, but hulu has FAILED me utterly and doesn't have season 2 ::shakes tiny fist at mighty internet gods::. The episode should be available (for a small amount of money) on iTunes.
