See I told you this was a good one ;-)

I think it’s actually quite an interesting setup having a kidnap story but done with the little psychic twist. I thought that was a nice change from how they could have played it.

I have to say Francesca does annoy me a little in this one. We know nothing happened between her and Fraser and yet here she is at her brother's place of work talking about sleeping with Fraser. Note how her story gets more elaborate the more she tells it from first saying when she dropped her coat Fraser looked like squirrel you’d be about to hit to later on describing Fraser giving her the once over.

Having said that the scene with Ray and Francesca in the interrogation room is so poignant. Best Ray/Francesca scene ever in my opinion you get that wonderful brother/sister relationship played out to the full.

Plus you can really read a slashy vibe into that from the guys like him don’t marry grills like you line to Ray warning her off him.

And there is quite a bit of slash subtext in this one. I love the closet scene because erm...closet I don't have to say more ;-) But there's just this whole way they are working together, mirroring body language, understanding each other’s mmmms and little touches too. Really nice subtext in this one I like it a lot.

Oh and there are fics. I shall see if I can't dig some up. Only one I could find ona quick search was a Frannie fic, her POV of the end scene:
http://www.squidge.org/dsa/archive/episode/conversation.html

The FBI aren't much to write home about but then they never are. Their sole purpose seem to be to show how good Ray and Fraser are. Not that I am complaining in that way. And in a way they do follow the evidence so...not that bad I guess.

Garret is a wonderful guest character and he’s well played by this week’s guest actor. Not too over the top but full of emotion, you really feel for the guy.

I think the end is Fraser being gentlemanly really. At least that is what I assume and I think at this point Frannie finally has got the hint. As to whether she sticks with it well...

But overall wonderful episode.

See I told you this was a good one ;-)

You were *absolutely* right!! That was a very enjoyable episode.

I loved the psychic element to the kidnap story. That's a theme I *rarely* get tired of. And it was very well done. I really did feel Scraggly Guy's pain at having these visions.

Note how her story gets more elaborate the more she tells it from first saying when she dropped her coat Fraser looked like squirrel you’d be about to hit to later on describing Fraser giving her the once over.

Yeah, I did notice that. I think the truest thing she said was the squirrel analogy. :D I bet he totally did look like that. I don't think she was thinking about her brother at all while she was telling folks. I think it was her way of staking a claim on Fraser--she's got no connection to the folks at Fraser's place of work or you can just bet she'd have been there bothering Jasmine and the Ninny.

Having said that the scene with Ray and Francesca in the interrogation room is so poignant.

Yes, that was...that was really amazing. And it was nice to get a little depth to Frannie beyond her crush on Fraser. Nice to see Ray trying to protect his sister, too. We usually see him exasperated with her (and rightly so), so it was nice to see that there is a lot of care and love there.

And there is quite a bit of slash subtext in this one.

I just *loved* how upset Ray was at the thought that Fraser might have slept with Frannie and it just so *totally* didn't seem like his main concern was that someone was boffing his sister, she's been married for heaven's sake, he's got to know that's happened before, but he really did, every time it came up, seem like he was jealous that Fraser might be hooking up with the wrong Vecchio.

I love the closet scene because erm...closet I don't have to say more ;-)

The closet thing isn't actually the kind of subtext *I* look for, because, while it's an amusing visual joke, it's got nothing to do with how the characters are interacting. That's where I want to see a spark between them.

But there's just this whole way they are working together, mirroring body language, understanding each other’s mmmms and little touches too. Really nice subtext in this one I like it a lot.

Yeah, this is the kind of subtext I look for, and I really liked it in this episode.

Thanks for the link to that fic, I'll take a look at it in the next couple of days. I can't believe there aren't a *million* of them.

The FBI aren't much to write home about but then they never are.

Yeah, well, except in FBI shows. :D

They are better in this ep than they were in Chinatown by *far* so I'm not going to complain too much. Ford was actually pretty tolerable this time.

Garret is a wonderful guest character and he’s well played by this week’s guest actor. Not too over the top but full of emotion, you really feel for the guy.

Yeah, I really liked him. I wish he'd have let Fraser take him under his wing more. He could have lived in Fraser's neighborhood with Jerome and Jesse.

Definitely a wonderful episode....now I just have to brace myself for VS.

:-) I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'd hate to have built it up and it be a disappointment.

Yeah, I did notice that. I think the truest thing she said was the squirrel analogy. :D I bet he totally did look like that.

I think you're right. Poor Fraser. He does get like that around her when she isn't half naked.

he's got no connection to the folks at Fraser's place of work or you can just bet she'd have been there bothering Jasmine and the Ninny.

I am honestly surprised she didn't shout it from the rooftops with a megaphone. Poor Fraser though I bet he was so uncomfortable and yet he's too much of a gentlemen to say anything.

Yes, that was...that was really amazing. And it was nice to get a little depth to Frannie beyond her crush on Fraser. Nice to see Ray trying to protect his sister, too. We usually see him exasperated with her (and rightly so), so it was nice to see that there is a lot of care and love there.

Yeah there was a lot of depth in that scene. I think it’s the most we’ve seen of Frannie up to this point we really get another side of her and we get to see another side of Ray too. Very nice.

Yep it’s very easy to read it like that. And when Ray says if there was anybody he’d want to sleep with his sister he’d want it to be Fraser you almost get this sense of him really saying - If I wanted anyone to sleep with me I’d want it to be you.

The closet thing isn't actually the kind of subtext *I* look for, because, while it's an amusing visual joke, it's got nothing to do with how the characters are interacting. That's where I want to see a spark between them.

True. I just find it cute ;-) Call it an obvious metaphor. And the interactions in the closet are interesting.

Thanks for the link to that fic, I'll take a look at it in the next couple of days. I can't believe there aren't a *million* of them.

I know there are more but can't find them. Might be worth asking over at ds_ficfinders.

Yeah, well, except in FBI shows. :D

Hee yes and even then they have their moments...

They are better in this ep than they were in Chinatown by *far* so I'm not going to complain too much. Ford was actually pretty tolerable this time.

Yeah I think this is kinda his highpoint.

Yeah, I really liked him. I wish he'd have let Fraser take him under his wing more. He could have lived in Fraser's neighborhood with Jerome and Jesse.

I think he's an independent guy who feels at peace with himself and his gift now so can move on in life.

Definitely a wonderful episode....now I just have to brace myself for VS.

And I suppose, in his chivalrous world view, if the lady is hanging her reputation on having slept with him, it's just as unchivalrous to say that she *didn't* than it would have been to say she had in a different situation.

And the interactions in the closet are interesting

That is true--they definitely have very interesting, and often important, conversations in the closet. :D

Tissues at the ready, eh?

A whole *box* of them, yeah. ::chin quiver::

Yes pretty much. He can't say anything one wya or theother as it would affect her reputation.

They do indeed.

A whole *box* of them, yeah. ::chin quiver::

Oh yes. *sniff*
