Episode Notes: Sentinel "Secret"

Mar 09, 2007 21:52

Having established last week that I have strange taste in episodes (apparently I'm the only one who likes Light My Fire a lot), I'm a little nervous to admit this week that I *really* like this episode. Jim and Blair are separated through the *entire* thing, pretty much, which sucks, but Blair never for even a second stops thinking of Jim. Not for ( Read more... )

I liked this episode, but there certainly were a lot of moments that had me scratching my head.

The bakery downstairs from their apartment is open at 4am?? Wow! I don't think there's much of anything open at 4 am in my area.

I know a guy who used to work at a bakery and he had to be there at 4 am, but I don't know if they actually opened the store that early. However, I don't understand why Blair didn't just stay there and use their phone. Whoever was working there must have wondered what Blair was doing crouched in front of the window. :) He mostly likely knows the people that work there. I can just picture he and Jim stopping in now and then for donuts or bagels. He could have just asked them if he could hide out in the back and call the cops.

Also, I can't figure out how the loft got trashed, since the bad guys ran out the front door to chase after Blair, and they wouldn't have come back because the cops were on the way. When would they have been able to search the place?

How many doors are there in Jim's apartment? The front door, the balcony doors, the fire escape near the bathroom, the one in Blair's room, and then another under the stairs. Wow! That's not a very secure perimeter at all for someone who thinks like a soldier and a cop.

I thought the door out of Blair's room was a fire escape. There's one out of Jim's bedroom too. Since they're on the second floor, any exterior door other than the front door would have to be either a fire escape or a balcony.

What do you think? Did Blair slip laxatives or something into the chili to give himself a chance to get away from Joel, or did the opportunity arise fortuitously?

I had the impression that it was deliberate, however Blair could probably have just opened the door and walked out and Joel probably wouldn't have been able to stop him. I'm sure Joel's a good cop, but he's not too swift on his feet. :)

Good thinking on Blair's part to get Jack behind the mail drop and on the ground, even if he did dump him out of his chair rather unceremoniously.

I couldn't figure out if the sniper was trying to kill Blair or Kelso, but either way he was a lousy shot.

Exactly, though I hadn't thought of that. But it's an excellent point, I bet they stop in there pretty regularly and the folks do know them. And maybe they serve the really early to work market and are open that early. But why didn't Blair stay there and use the phone...an excellent question. Maybe he was afraid the Bad Guys would come after him in there and possibly imperil the folks who work there, folks he knows.

Hmmmm!! Maybe they called in *other* bad guys to search? Hmmm....that's a really good question too. I hadn't caught that little inconsistency at *all*!!

Oh, yeah definitely a fire escape...but there are like *four* fire escape doors in this apartment (Jim's room, Blair's room, near the bathroom, and under the stairs but *not* in Blair's room), that's a lot of fire escapes for a not-that-big apartment.

But if he'd just slipped out under Joel's watchful eye, Joel could have called for backup right away and Blair would have less chance to get anywhere. And Joel's not too quick, but he does a decent job of being big and intimidating. :D (I do love the later episodes where he goes on a diet and trims up some though, that makes me a lot of happy.)

Well, yes. Bad Guys have to be lousy shots or TV shows and movies end too early. :D Maybe they were shooting for Kelso (actually I kind of got the impression they were--because they'd found out that he was searching CIA files for info on Oliver--they were surprised to see Blair there), in which case he didn't suck that bad. Kelso got shot and nearly killed.
