I'm sorry. I could bundle them in to a .zip file for you and upload them to yousendit for you to download. Would that be easier for you?

Now we know he’s got a heart of gold underneath all that black he wears *g*, but I think he was just being cautious and checking out the lay of the land, so to speak, before rushing in.

Yeah, I think so. That's kind of what I figured out. And there were a lot of other men in the lynch mob, so, as you say, tackling it alone and getting killed wasn't going to help Nathan at all. And, just maybe, he was trying to get a feel for the town too--because he was sure watching the other men in town to see if any of them were going to do anything.

The fact that it took just a look from Vin, knowing he had at least one man at his back, to make him interfere in the hanging shows us, I think, that Chris is predisposed to help, as ( ... )

~I'm sorry.

Not your fault I'm still on the dreaded dial-up (grrrr), but I do really appreciate you making the caps available in your LJ thingy. I'm almost through them, lol! I haven't been at the computer too much over the past three days and of course I want to load the big version of the Chris and Vin pics, with full quality, so I can see them in all their glory. *g* So, yeah, it's taking me a while, but I'm nearly there!

~And, just maybe, he was trying to get a feel for the town too

Great point! He's new in town, probably just passing through, doesn't want to step on toes if his assistance isn't needed. I wonder what he thought when the only person to stand up to the outlaws was a woman?

~I also think he wanted to help the SeminoleBut again, he'd be in a position where one, or even two, men probably wouldn't make much of a difference. Plus, having Vin at his back probably served as a dose of moral support. And I can see this being, like, foreplay, or a first date, lol ( ... )

All of my caps are in LJ galleries. I'll try to remember to slip you a link direct to the gallery, so you can get them in more reasonable sized chunks. Particularly if I go crazy nutso again like this time. :)

I wonder what he thought when the only person to stand up to the outlaws was a woman?

That's an interesting question. Do we get any idea of how Chris relates to women? I mean he doesn't dismiss the Beautiful Eyed Lady (is that Mary, BTW?) as the editor of the newspaper just because she's a woman. Of course, the frontier was a lot less sexist than one would imagine for the era. Everything was just a little too close to the edge to throw away the skills and abilities of half the population just on principle.

But, that said, I bet he doesn't have a very high opinion of the men of the town, leaving a woman to do what should have been their work.

I can see this being, like, foreplay, or a first date, lol!Yeah! I love the idea of the whole defense of the ( ... )

~I'd be very appreciative if you'd slip me the link! Thanks. *g*

~Yeah, I didn't mean he'd dismiss Mary for being a woman, but that, as you say, he'd reconsider the men in the town who'd hide behind her skirts, or who didn't have the balls she had.

~I'm sure you're right, that it was kind of a test. What better way to take the measure of a man? And it doubled as a first date. *bg*

~You're welcome! *g*

Okeys, if I don't remember just remind me, 'kay?

Doubly efficient!! :D

I'm surprised that he'd stay to protect a town full of cowards who hide behind a woman's skirts. Maybe he just wants to be needed and this town clearly needs him.

~I always presumed that some of that luggage on top of the stage coach belonged to JD. He did decide to get off before his stop. I just figured we never saw it get unloaded.

After JD climbs off the stage, the camera follows him running down the street with his saddle, but you can hear the driver starting the horses and the stage driving off. So if he had any luggage on top of that coach, I don't think it stayed in town with him.

Wrt your comment about him being green, sometimes his green-ness annoyed me.

Oh, yes, I absolutely know! He's definitely going to be the hardest one for me to get to like, I think. He's a little heedless and too cock-strong to actually listen to the elders who could teach him how not to get himself (or one of them) killed out there.

For someone who knows Chris so well, he doesn’t really seem to get him. Not like *coff* Vin does. *g*Yeah, Buck and Chris definitely seem like odd friends. Buck's so open and friendly and *welcoming* and Chris is none of those things. I love the friendship, but I don't think ( ... )

That's it exactly! Speaking of JD, I read comments further on that talk about Buck/JD, and I have to admit, they make sense. I was never a big fan of that pairing, but the explanation that Buck sees JD as someone who needs taking care of, as a woman might, resonates. I'd love to read the fic where Buck struggles with his view of JD (as the woman) versus the reality of JD having manly bits. *g*

~wanna link?

Thanks for the offer, but no thanks. *g*

~Vin gets Chris almost instantly, which is just *dreamy*.

Yes, yes, yes! The instant connection when their eyes meet, the bond they feel that makes Vin share his secret and has Chris offering to go to Tascosa with him... ♥

~(Which has now got me wondering what he sees in Chris that makes him think Chris needs that show of trust in talking about the bounty.)Perhaps it's not what he thinks Chris needs, but what Vin needs. The ( ... )

Oh, no kidding!! Sassy's such a genius. I'd *really* love to see that fic as well. Because there does seem to be a bit more than just brotherly wrasslin' and squabbling going on between them. But it's not entirely slashy either.

Perhaps it's not what he thinks Chris needs, but what Vin needs. The sharing may satisfy Vin's need to trust someone rather than Chris' need to be shown trust.

Oooo!! I like that idea too. And he knows he can trust Chris because...well, because he just knew the instant he saw him. ::le sigh:: That's nice!! I really just *adore* Chris and Vin!

What's interesting with Ezra is watching him fight against his "nature".

I'm really interested in seeing more of Ezra because of sallymn's comments, which is so cool. When I watched the first couple of episodes back in December I kept resenting every minute of screen time Chris and Vin didn't get. Hopefully, I'm a little more open to the *rest* ( ... )

~I'm glad you like that idea. It's so much fun talking about these guys, even more fun, I think, than if we had different opinions, because we just sort of keep stoking the fire, lol!

~I'll be interested to see how you react to the other characters as you watch more of the eps. I don't begrudge them screentime, much *g*, but Chris and Vin are definitely the two I'd rather be watching. Fer sure. *g*

~Did she give you the impression that you could pick her brains for Inuvik factoids, should you need them for a fic? *g*

Heee! It is fun to just keep up the squee!

Oh, I had a question that you might be able to answer if you've done some research. After the fight in the graveyard and their introductions, Chris gives Vin a quick glance over and then says "Buffalo hunter?" So something about Vin's appearance (and he wasn't wearing the flappy coat) says "buffalo hunter" to a man in the know. And I *really* wonder what that was.

~Did she give you the impression that you could pick her brains for Inuvik factoids, should you need them for a fic? *g*

Quite possibly, though her dominant impression of it was that the Inuit have the right to kill Caribou and the corpses were just littering the sides of the roads outside of town. They were taking the antlers and leaving the carcasses to rot. She was quite upset about this.

To see the pictures, go to my Mag7 screencap gallery here. They're in the order that I reference them in the comments and instead of having to download 105 all at once, it's only 16 per page. At the top there's a link for the next page when you're ready to go on. It's not quite so convenient--two browser windows and going back and forth to see the pictures with the text I'd imagine. But you'll get to see the pretties anyway. :D
