This is the first set of notes I've done for episodes I haven't seen before. My husband and I skipped this episode when we were watching about a year ago. He has an extreme embarrassment squick and this seemed like it was just going to set that off, so we skipped past it

This is one pf those episodes that I'm not all that keen on because it keeps Fraser and Ray apart too much. Although having said that when that are together there's some priceless moments.
I love the way Ray answers the call at the crime scene, almost like - honey I told you not to call me at work. And then he drops the case and brings over the stuff anyway. And the dancing line hee.
There's some good Fraser moments too - asking Dief's opinion after he's insulted Dief by sayimg you can keep you opions to yourself.
I like to think the Stetson block is his own design.
Fraser in the leather bar leads ,e to wonder - how niave is he? Does he know what the place is? Does he have some grasp of what it is?
Fraser ontop of the taxi thugh - hee hee. And his 'Oh dear' when the taxi stops and throws him off. But that Stetson just pops back into shape.
Poor Ray spending that time with Huey and Louis nad then later getting hit on the head. He doesn't have a lot of luck in this part.
There are some good moments with Welsh too and I do like him and Ray peeping at Fraser.
The music I do like too.
So overall there's soem nice solid moments but for some reason it doesn't do it for me.

I am *so* with you on that! And I'm *hating* Fraser getting bested by the little brat. Ray's shining though, so good on him!

Very, very good questions. Very good questions. His answer to the sub who wanted to be punished was so perfect for someone who didn't want to get involved, it makes me feel like he knew exactly what was going on and shut it down. But it could also have been just naivete and he really *doesn't* have any idea what the place is about.
I think it could be argued either way.

I do too. I tend to sit on the fence and think he has an inkling what it is about but his focus is on finding Christina so he does perhaps approach it slightly niavely perhaps assuming the taxi driver wouldn't take a 16 year old to a BDSM club.

I prefer part 2 and IMHO part 1 is the weaker of the two. More Ray in part 2 :-)

No kidding. This chaperone gig would have gone much better with Ray there--he'd have been a little more relaxed than Fraser, in terms of maybe taking the girl some place fun, but he's used to having younger people around so I think he'd have been much better at it than Ray.
I prefer part 2 and IMHO part 1 is the weaker of the two. More Ray in part 2 :-)
More Ray is definitely going to be more better. :)
