What's the meaning of a word? Of a sentence? A paragraph? ramblings? pages and pages of words, all strewn out on the lines like the fugitives of the writesr thoughts? incomprehensible.

When I first read Joyce's A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, I thought that was hard reading. Now I think I understand it. Too bad Light in August still escapes me. and so do other things. more important things.
