I've been in a bit of an upwards spiral lately, wanting to DO something - feeling really restless. I started taking a motivational hypnosis class and either the hypnosis or just the mindset is working, because that led to me signing up for a beginner web class I've been meaning to take for a couple years.
In the class, we needed to do a web site, and trying hard to think about a web site got me thinking about what possible business I could ever have. The only thing I'm really, really good at is being a merchant in online games. In every game I've played in the last 10 years, I've excelled at finding niche markets, finding underpriced merch, and reselling at a profit.
I decided it's time to try my hand at it in real life, but I wanted to start small.
Armed with this decision and quite a few hours of research, I hit the yard sales this morning.
I now know why I've never went to yard sales. I hate yard sales. Hate!!! Still. I came away with no dvds or games, but quite a few nice books bought for about 50 cents each. Now, I just need to sell them online for $2 and take my tremendous profits and reinvest in more merch. Although that would mean more yard sales.... bleh.
I did find a couple of really, really awesome deals on craigslist though for large quantities from people moving, etc., so that might be the way I do it - watching craigslist like it was the Wow auction house. Guess we'll see. Small steps.
