How many people were wanting to give Shannon a good smacking the other night? Both her and Boone, I fear.
Here Charlie and Hurley were having this great time fishing. (Well,
they might not have *known* it, but it was a great time. There! I have
decreed it!) Charlie must've been feeling useful for the first time in
a long while. (Again, as far as we know.) Here Shannon is, though, just
using him as a sort of tool in order to get what see wants/ needs.
Which is worse, though, I wonder? Shannon manipulating him, or Boone
dismissing him as having been manipulated?
I also wonder about Charlie's self-esteem levels... If he'd known that
Shannon was using him, perhaps he would have still gone on the mad
fish-tackling hunt. Maybe he wants that much to be loved?
This needs to be explored in fiction! If anyone cares for a particular
pairing, let me know so I can add it in. (Right now, I'm not drawn to
anyone in particular.... I just want for Charlie to get some hugs!)
