it took a while, but i finally saw supernatural 5.03, free to be you and me, and ... it took us about an hour. or so. because we watched all the castiel & dean scenes twice, at least, and jesus, there were many.

+ on that note: DEAN BEING HAPPY. oh, my gosh, that was just. oh gosh. i loved that moment. it's probably my absolute favourite out of all the ones we've seen, because dean's so ridiculously happy in it and he's laughing and giggling and THROWING AN ARM AROUND CASTIEL and cas sort of bending down with dean, wondering what's so funny and and and cas smiling, too, because dean's happy and asd;lalfjls that was truly such a beautiful moment, and i lovelovelovelovelove it forever and ever. and the end of that scene, where dean goes, it's been a long time since i've laughed that hard. it's been more than a long time. years. and that ... jesus, but he breaks my heart in so many ways and i just. oh god, dean. /wibble
+ castiel whispering something in a foreign language. nnnnnnnnnngh my brain. where is it. also, "i'm here, raphael, come and get me you little bastard," and THAT IS SUCH A DEAN THING TO SAY. tbh, i'm not entirely sure i like it, but it's still awesome. and i really loved what they did with it, the lightning and raphael appearing and everything, nnngh.
+ and raphael. i mean. i can't even. he is awesome. i mean. seriously awesome. nnnnnnargh i may or may not have developed a thing for him, watching the episode, because he was SO BAMF. and so sad, the bit where he tells cas that god's dead, and cas being sad, and we're tired. we just want it to be over. we just want paradise, and that's what really got to me, i think. that right there. it's just. he's totally breaking my heart. D:
+ also, raphael bringing up that big what if, that maybe it was lucifer who brought cas back. which, you know, was such an obvious alternative from the beginning and, you know. yeah. but i loved that, castiel slowly starting to doubt it, his existence, why he's back.
+ LUCIFER. goddamn, but he is good. i mean, the whole jessica thing (and she's always awesome, but sam actually kissing lucifer, oh l-lol) and nnnngh when he said, "it always had to be you," (WHO DIDN'T CALL THAT, although if the michael vs. lucifer & dean vs. sam thing happens MY HEART WILL BE FOREVER SHATTERED, but also also the whole thing with nick just barely being able to keep lucifer in without burning up, yes yes yes) and the whole, "i will never lie to you. i will never trick you. but you will say yes to me," and ASD;ALJFLD;ALJFLD LUCIFER ILU. i mean. er.
+ on that note, i'm really proud of sam, though. (and i loved that he was doing his sort of not real job, sticking with the plan not to hunt, refusing to help the other hunters.) and. and it's just awesome. because he wants to stay clean, he wants to be able to stand up on his own, without having to depend on dean, without putting everyone in danger because of it, and i just loved him standing up to lucifer. obviously he would, but idk, it was just a lovely moment. (and LINDSEY. i didn't like her much, at first, but later, yes. she was awesome.) and i mean, yeah. i never stopped loving sam, but for the first time in what feels like forever, it's like he's actually sammy again. and there are no words to convey how much i love that, absolutely none.

+ the whole last scene with castiel and dean, just. dean comforting cas! i just loved dean comparing their dads again. and i've had more fun with you in the past 24 hours than i've had with sam in years, and you're not that much fun, and it sort of breaks my heart, but it's also ... i mean, i get it. i get why dean feels relieved, why he's happy. i didn't really expect him to realise it so soon, but i think it's something he has to understand, that he can have a life without sam, because if he didn't, him and sam getting together again wouldn't be as good, it wouldn't mean as much.
