Promises and Explanations
Since I began posting fic, I've been very careful to reply to all the reviews I receive. They're very special to me, and I feel I should say thank you at the very least. (And it also serves as a penance for all the fic I read but don't review.) It may not be as promptly as I'd like, but I always answer.
Until January of 2012.
As usual, during the December holidays of 2011, I caught up on all the outstanding ones from November, when I was doing NANO, and early in December, when it's all about preparing for Christmas.
Because I was taking part in hd_holidays for the first time, I also accumulated quite a few to which I couldn't respond until January and the reveals.
Unfortunately, January was when everything blew up. Work issues, health issues (my own as well as friends and family)... They have been creative, prolonged, and relentless.
Things would look as though they were starting to settle, and to kick start my muse, I'd sign up for a fest. That usually worked pretty well, and I'd get at least a few weeks of good writing in.
Then work would get nutty, or I'd relapse, react to meds, have surgery, etc. and the cycle would repeat.
Things seem to have plateaued again, at least for the moment, and I'm trying to catch up on both reviews and WIPs.
So if you're wondering why you've suddenly received a response months/years after leaving a review, that's why.
