A day to remember

To those who lost someone five years ago today; my heart, prayers, and thoughts go out to you.
To those who risked all to help others five years ago today; you are the definition of all that is redeeming about the human race. I applaud you, salute you, and wish I could be more like you.

Now, on to what's happening in my little playground. Kia and I are pretty much over. This isn't some cataclysmic/monumentous event; we just drifted apart and never found much time to spend with each other. And, seeing as how I'm honestly not concerned about or even really that sad, I'm thinking this might be a good thing.

Chad and I will be hitting up Krav Maga together starting tomorrow, hopefully I'll actually stick to the schedule and not puss out like I always do.

Work is work, but I think I may have a thing for a co-worker. A cute vietnamese named Nguyet (pronounce "whet" appparently) or more commonly "Moon", which is what her name translates to. There are two mitigating factors to this: 1) I'm technically her boss. 2) She's 10 years older than me.

For the first, well, it's not unheard of. More importantly, one of us is likely to leave the company with a year from now, so it won't be an issue.

For the second . . . damnit, she looks like a hot college bound 20-something!

... Did I mention she's 80% deaf? Or that she learned english AFTER she went deaf? Or that she speaks it better than our fucking programming staff from Iran? Yeah, so I'm a bit impressed. At somepoint in the near future she and I will be going drinking (yes, already asked and confirmed) so we'll see how that goes.

Gaming stuff:

I'm going to kill the Unclean One. Seriously, I'm about this fonging close mate! I'm sick to death of hearing his whining, of being expected and/or guilt-tripped into providing transportation. I'm also tired of him being a downer. I've agreed to take him to his doctor's appointment (he may actually be getting help now, which I applaud and am happy for him for) this Saturday so I figure I'll also take him to the game. Which isn't that bad, it's when I have to take him home that it sucks mucho donkey dangly bits. My 20-30 minute drive home turns into an hour and a half or worse. I think that one of two things is going to happen soon: either I'm going to leave the group (which sucks because Rubio just started up a new SW campaign using D6 which so far has roxored) or I'm going to refuse to play nursemaid, thus causing all sorts of shit in the group. I guess it really will come down to how much I want to avoid drama.

Current games I'm playing:
DOA4 (unlocked Helena and Spartan, yay).
Chrome Hounds (Oh baby, what mechassualt should've been)
Enchanted Arms (The only "japanese" RPG on the 360, something I've been missing)

*"japanese" RPG is apparently defined as the semi-linear storyline with turn-based or close-to-it combat.

So yeah, that's about it in a nutshell.
