Torchwood Season 4

New Torchwood! I'm actually feeling optimistic about it now, exactly the opposite of what I felt when Fox was looking at it. I'm still wary of what disasters RTD might cause, especially since it sounds like they're still hoping to make the new series more like COE than like seasons 1 and 2, but I'm willing to cross my fingers and hope for the best ( Read more... )

*I was THRILLED it was what I’d hoped for all along. Not Starz in particular but a CABLE channel and not a broadcast channel. Hopefully with it being on cable it (and Jack) won’t get ‘neutered’ for general consumption. I’ve not seen their Spartacus series but think I may have to watch it now just to get a sense of how they might treat TW ( ... )

I haven't had cable in years so I don't know anything about Starz, but yeah, I could never really see Torchwood succeeding on any of the major networks, not these days ( ... )

I don't think we'll see Rhys at all...I think he and baby will be killed off PRE season 4 by aliens or something and THAT will be what brings Jack back to earth... I've got it all figured out , LOL!
But we DID see Harriet killed...when the Daleks broke into her house...they shot her and we got the whole x-ray effect like when they shot Jack on the gamestation.
Yeah we should BE so lucky as to have RTD step down and Moffat take over. Maybe if there's anything left for a season 5 cause RTD seems to have a very shot attention span (kinda like Michaerel J Starczinski I know I spelled that wrong, LOL)and I cannot imagine that RTD won't want to destroy it all (in the name of drama, of course) which Starz will kind of frown on if it's a hit so maybe THEN we'll get Moffat.

Yeah, I suspect you're right on that, but I'll keep hoping as long as I can.

But we DID see Harriet killed...Nope, we didn't actually. Well, unless you have a different version on DVD that I haven't seen, which I suppose is possible. They aimed directly at her, then we saw one of them aim its weapon off to the side (presumably at her computer station), then we switch to Martha watching the laptop and see Harriet's transmission cut off -- but all we see is broken-camera static. No x-ray effect, and the last time we see Harriet she's alive and well and telling the Daleks that they underestimate humans. I think I remember hearing that TPTB have said something about her definitely being dead, but we don't actually see it, so in a world of fluctuating timelines, I'm not gonna give up on her. *g ( ... )

Hmm. That's not reassuring -- or maybe it is, if it means I can keep trying to catch up with the House eps I missed before downloading the new Who ones! I really don't like Ten, so in my mind, 11 would have a really hard time being worse than him, but I also have a sucky connection and not much of a hard drive, so downloading decent-quality eps is a hassle and a half, and not something I'm eager to do for a so-so season. Still, I do prefer to avoid spoilers -- and the longer the series goes on, the harder that's going to be, so I probably shouldn't wait too long. But as long as I know I'm not missing something wonderful, it can wait another month or two. Thanks!
