highlights of the trip: (by no means complete... i ran out of time before class.)
-me freaking out everytime the plane hit turbulence... and also on the way back developing a deep seated hatred for Atlanta airport.. it's icky and dirty. hated it. oh and they also don't tell you when they randomly decide to switch gates on you, so you have to figure it out yourself after sitting for two hours at the original "right" gate.
-getting to see RIPTORN the DOLPHIN swimming around in Sarasota Bay area when we went out on the boat... so named b/c of an unfortuanate encounter with propellers
-going to the aquarium and falling in love with manatees
-feelin good in the 'suit
-looking at the double-digit million dollar homes all along the bay... beautiflul just beautiful
-going to the pelican and egret and bird rookeries and seeing nests and baby birds in the water
-Hooters bikini contest... no i didn't take part though
-irish pub... complete with (drunk) anthony listening to his Ipod instead of the live irish music and then dancing with me at the bar... along with singing along to the irish music by saying stuff like "lucky charms lucky charms lucky charms NRA NRA i want to f'ing fight someone lucky charms NRA NRA" .. priceless
-the guys being pissed because the girls wanted to go home because they weren't the drunk ones .. complete with the normal "you're no fun"... some things never change no matter how old you get
-gorgeous pool along with gym nad spa... so nice to walk down in the morning, run on the treadmill, then change and relax in the sun (and randomly meet everyone from pittsburgh in the gym)
-playing hoop-la and pictionary with four dogs and lots of 30 yr olds
-"PAPARAZZI" photos... a.k.a. drunk anthony bolting out of the car screaming "paparazzi! paparazzi!" late at night to take digital pics of chris peeing on the side of hte road.
-finding a portuguese restaurant and getting PASTEIS DE NATA ... then buying bolachas maria next door to bring home
-playing with my sister's dogs (whom she describes as her kids), as well as every single one of their doggy friends who came over... and yes the shitzus were cute. ... and the dobermans and the rottweilers too, surprisingly.
-Anthony finding my "Blinded by the Right: The conscience of an ex-conservative" book and complaining long and hard about professors trying to brainwash college kids, despite my repeated assurances that it was for an ethics class not a political one.
-being selected for additional searches at the airport so getting to bypass the long line at security and get extensively searched and patted down. Is it bad I thought that was cool?
things i learned:
-it's always good to have positive role models in your life whom you can learn from .. everything from relationships to life in general.
-hot tubs and sunburn = not a good combination
-upon returning home, it's always a regrettable situation to try and contact someone you shouldn't.
-if you throw the ball for Ally once, she's going to expect you to do it infinity-times for the rest of the day.
-scary looking dogs are often the biggest babies ever
-florida isn't as bad as i thought and i would be perfectly willing to relocate there once I have about $50 million saved up for one of those houses..
AHHH late for class...
