Honeymoon in New York, Part II

Aug 19, 2008 20:54

Tuesday: Tony and I got a late start today and didn't ended up eating breakfast until after noon some time. We did pick up some really gorgeous velvet embossed cards from this 4 story art store on 57th on our way to Ess-A-Bagel. Ok, so bagels in NY are divine. Why can't I take these home with me? We had these multigrain everything bagels that were chewy and slightly crusty on top, just the perfect consistency. I ate it with this crazy sundried tomato tofu spread while Tony had the typical lox on cream cheese. I have to say, his was much better, so I'll keep that in mind. While eating breakfast/lunch, we get a call from my aunt who tells us that the real estate agent will be coming to the condo we are staying in to show it in 30 minutes. In a panic, we grab a cab back, realize that it's going slower than molasses going uphill in January, then hoof it back just in time to see him closing the door after turning on the lights. We rush in, clean up in 8 minutes and make it look vacant, and rush back out so he can show the client. After that, we hop on the R and the 7 to Flushing and Forest Hills to meet with Tony's aunt Sarah, uncle Fernando, and cousin Kyle. Fernando drives us around, showing Tony where we went to middle school and what has happened to his old home (lived there until he was 8). We then went to this park with some gorgeous globe fountain near Shae Stadium. There we saw a real life guido with the DBZ hair and too much tanner. I only thought that level of D.G.ery lived in clubs. After, we went to their house, waited for Kyle to get home, then toured some of the sights like Brooklyn Bridge and the docks. We did get to see the Empire State building and Chrysler Tower all lit up, which was very pleasing.

We still need to hit up China Town, Times Square, and a few other places before we head out on Friday. Yes, I'm taking lots of pictures, which I'll add to these posts soon.
