So, things are looking up a bit. For one, my dad isn't going blind. He's been having vision problems for the past few weeks, and finally went to the doctor about it. Well, initially the doctor diagnosed him with macular degeneration, which basically makes you progressively go blind. However, he went to a second doctor who had all sorts of fancy equipment to test for macular degeneration....and he doesn't! Yaaay! He just burst a vessel in the back of his eye due to stress. Gross, yes, but it also (generally) goes away on its own. So hooray!
I also had a really fun (sort of) day in Boston yesterday. The rain wasn't fun, but the Red Sox game was :3 I love baseball! And they won. Eh, I'm kind of weird in that I generally root for the home team, even though I like the Yankees better. I think it's the polite thing to do. Also, I don't want to get beaten up xD Whateverrrr. I just like baseball (but not as much as hockey, because hockey is awesome).
Also, I got an interview with the New York Aquarium, which is random and out of the blue, but I don't care! XD I was jumping up and down. If they offer me the position (which I think they will, since they kind of implied it in the email), I'm gonna take it. It's a stupid expensive ridiculous commute, but I love aquariums and marine biology. And I am fully ridiculous. And I also can't think of when I'll ever again have the chance to work in an aquarium. Eeeee, I'm excited xD They have jellyfish!!! Hmm, I also kind of want a part time job that, y'know, pays, so I'm gonna be on the lookout for one of those. And theeeen, maybe in the fall, I'm gonna try to enroll in Japanese and Arabic. ...We'll see. But these are my dream plans x_x
I also had a lovely evening xD My cousin is in town with his three sons, and we went to the gorgeous beach front house he rented for dinner. It was awesome! ;_; I love seeing family! Ahhh, I think we'll see him again along with my uncle in August :3 I'm excited about it. We don't see them nearly enough.
Aaaaaaannnnddd, I'm working on a painting I really like, and I hope it turns out well. I really like the sketch I have done....it's of Medusa. I like her a lot. Her myth is really sad. She gets raped by Poseidon and then gets punished because of it. Thaaaat's fair. But then I realized that the way that the Greeks treated rape in their myths was overwhelmingly horrifying. Rape generally seemed almost like a compliment....the nymph or whoever was just TOO BEAUTIFUL(!) and the god was just TOO OVERCOME with love and passion! So it's okay! Errr.....no.
