For anyone who might have known Ranka, she's no longer one of the Malnosso's lab rats.  Back home with the Frontier colony on their new home-world,  working on her singing career.

[It doesn't quite sound like he's all that happy about this development.  Sure he's glad that Ranka's a universe away from Luceti now, but his days are going to be a ( Read more... )

[Masaomi hangs out at the battle dome sometimes! He is this afternoon. In the aftermath of Law being kidnapped and him doing nothing for it not so long ago, he's been fighting in here more to try to figure out how to be stronger. Better.

But in the midst of going in and out of rooms, he spies Michael come out of one]

Oh, hello, Michael-kun.

[He'll nod and force a smile- not that most could tell the difference of course.]

Kida, good to see you. Training today, or just taking in the sights from the observation level?

Eeeh... maybe a little both, you could say?

[He drafted twice, there's really no way - or need - to hide his combat abilities. But he still... isn't fond of advertising it]

[Michael nodded- he wouldn't blame Kida for the sentiment, but as it went unsaid-]

Don't suppose you feel like running a scenario together?

Eeeh... that's a bold proposition, isn't it, Michael-kun?

Maybe- but I tend to prefer training here with someone else. When I can, at least. Having someone to watch your back really lets you ramp up the difficulty- make things more interesting.

You really like fighting, don't you?

[His smile fades- this is serious business.]

Honestly? No.

[And then the smile is back, bigger than ever.]

But it's what I did for a living back on Frontier, and with the Third Party... I feel like it might be wise to keep myself in top condition.

Well, when you're fighting an alien race that stands at about thirty feet tall with a space fleet numbering in the millions... you need hardware that can handle a variety of situations.

[...Yep. Not even kidding.]

Happened around the beginning of the 21st century- the aliens were drawn in by the activation of an old alien ship that humanity had just finished rebuilding.

[He stifles a laugh.]

The ship itself is actually where we got most of the transformation technology too- big enough to house a small city inside it, and still capable of a full transformation. The city didn't exactly fare well during the transformation sequence though~
