1. I always seem to have enjoyed "monster of the week" TV shows (see Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, Xena: Warrior Princess, Charmed, Merlin) however, the main reason I love it is...
2. Dean and Sam. Constant bickering, bitching, beating each other up, macho manly crap and all. Basically you’ve got two guys who got brought up in one helluva fucked up way but they’re still fiercely loyal, protective and loving (in a quiet, strong, internal manly way of course). Oh boys! I love you and your fuck-up-ed-ness! Also, they’re played by two sexy looking blokes which certainly helps sweeten the deal :D
3. Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Misha Collins. Need I say anything further?
4. Actually yes I do. The casting people? Are just plain awesome. Whether it’s a random once off guest star or finding the perfect tiny!Dean/Sam/Mary/John whoever...there hasn’t been one actor on this show I have truly disliked. And I am honestly amazed at the actors they’ve found to play younger/older versions of the characters. Just...wow.
5. Awesome guest stars. Mainly Fredric Lane and Julie Benz who I already knew from Lost and Dexter respectively so I squeed my head off :D I love it when fandom’s collide!
6. I have to admit it: I like watching manly men cry (also, I kinda wanna squish Dean and Sam in a big ol’ hug on an almost episodical basis. Mainly just to make them uncomfortable ahahaha). So basically, YAY ANGST.
7. This show? Amuses the fuck out of me. Honestly, it cracks me up so much that quite often when watching it I end up laughing out loud and making people in the general vicinity give me funny looks.
8. On a similar note, I love how they take the piss out of various things (the movie industry, fandom, sitcoms) cheeky buggers! I’m still waiting for a musical episode akin to "Once More With Feeling". Bring it on!
9. Also music related: SPN’s got a rockin’ soundtrack. ROCKIN’ BITCH.
10. And finally...has anyone else’s fandom got a picture floating around on the net of a gorgeous cast member DIPPED IN YOGURT? Have they? Yeah that’s what I thought. You know what’s even better? I thought this photo (and the guy in it) was awesome even before I knew who Misha Collins WAS. Thank you flisters who linked me to this photo with lots of capslocking and squee when it first appeared on the interwebs. I am forever indebted to your fangirling ways!
And I swear to god if any of you guys spoil me in comments for the end of S5 I will fly to wherever you live and I will END YOU. I've seen some generalised "D: !!!!1!" comments on it and seen a scattering of eps but nothing specific so DO NOT SPOIL ME. Cheers :)
