I think I will have to pass on all my mega-dark bunnies to you when they get too vicious for me to handle. You have a way of taming them, making them accessible, without blunting their teeth. Maybe it is this special flangst formula you use with them? In spite of the very dark subject matter there is also something so sweet and empathetic about this. I don't know how you did it. Next up I'll see if you can cope with the dark bunny that kills Charlies parents ( ... )

I am beyond thrilled that you're enjoying this because it was such an interesting writing experience which without your bunny, I never would have had. Tbh I'm not sure how I manage to make my fics violent and dark but also sweet - I think it may also have something to do with the characters =P

I think Charlie relates to Joe in exactly the same way Frodo identifies with Gollum - good call with that. As much as he fears Joe, he also pities him and understands him.

That image of him wandering alone through the campsite makes me sad - he's so melancholy and alone and then everything just turns to the shits again. Poor Charlie =(

Part 2 should be up tomorrow - hopefully. All my other appointments pending of course =P I'm back and forth all bloody day.

This whole story is full of great parallels both deliberate and accidental lol. I love how things just fall into place when you write sometimes.

Haha, I don't often write Kate but I'm glad I was channeling her character well in this. I certainly wouldn't Kate to start siccing Jin onto me, Charlie was very smart to run in the other direction.
