Jeez. I suck. One of these days I'm gonna stop being lazy and do my dishes and take my garbage out. I swear, I have cupcakes from my BIRTHDAY sitting in boxes on my dining room table. If my parents get here and see that shit, I'm gonna be reemed out like nobody's bidness. Soyeah, I took note to stop sucking in that manner.
Last nite was the IPFW Jazz Ensemble/New Millennium Jazz concert. Our dudes did great, and the NM rules pretty hard, too. I totally dig their bassist, he's got skillz like no other. :) He had a solo at the beginning of Night in Tunisia. (Did I spell that right? I'm such a dope I am not sure.) He got all funky wit it, and I SWEAR he threw some krazy ass Primus-ish licks in there. I was wholly entertained by that and the fakt that the drummer was wearing these little sandal-y thingies when he played. I don't know how they stayed on.
Post-show, I helped strike the stage (as per normal), and Doc handed me his horn. He said, "You're a saxophonist. I'll be right back." lol. I thought that was funny. I love his sax so much he knows I'd never let anything happen to it.
I had big plans to talk to Tim afterwards about some Sax Quartet business, but I kouldn't fynd him anywhere. We all readied ourselves to go to Doc's house for the post-koncert partay, and I decided to go with Doc in his pimped-out minivan. His porch is AWESOME, and he remodeled his Cave. (That's where he praktices, works, listens to music, and builds model airplanes in the basement.) It looks really awesome now, but he's got some of the stuff from his studio in there. It's weird.
Soyeah, a good tyme was had by all, and I got to help Mrs. Ator put pickles in a bowl. That ruled so hard. :)
