Wait, why didn't they-

You know, it's a shame that they used all the kanima venom failing to test people for being the kanima, because otherwise they could have used that instead of ketamine to knock Jackson out at the rave, and then that nice girl wouldn't have died of kanima. Since it demonstrably works on Jackson when he's not in blue lizard form, or was that just because the kanima-master didn't want to get caught and let Jackson get knocked out? If Jackson's actions were as tightly controlled as we see in 2x07 - where the kanima-master doesn't just send him to kill things, but also can speak through him and move his body around with a fair amount of precision while he still looks like Jackson - he might just have thrown Jackson's body to the floor and held it still to keep from getting busted. Actually.

Incidentally, is every douchey thing Jackson has done in s2 the kanima? Or is that letting him off way too easy? For instance, there was a clear motivation for the kanima-master to frame Isaac for Mr. Lahey's murder. On the other hand, Jackson is fully capable of being a jackass on his own. I am absolutely sure that it wasn't Jackson who attacked Allison in the locker room, and at some points it hasn't been Jackson who was interacting with Lydia, but at others it has been.

Also: ... I am not 100% sure Matt was the real kanima-master. He didn't seem in 2x10 like he had the level of control over Jackson that we've seen. Harris has clearly still been driving his car, how has Matt had access to it? I think Matt was nominally controlling the kanima but I am also wondering if it hasn't been Gerard on some level the whole time? Matt is motivated by a sudden sick rush of power and the tense energy of his stalker-murderer deal, but he's not much of a mastermind. I don't think Gerard would have aimed him at Allison, though, that's rather a bridge too far, so I think we can conclude that I don't know what's going on. Hopefully the writers do!

I am rewatching 2x10 for reference, incidentally, and the emergency shirtless dream sequence will never not make me laugh.

Allison is the best and I want infinite Allison. The fact that I can't actually clip for vidding until I get my laptop fixed is killing me a little.

- I have a copy of 2x10 with spanish subtitles and I laugh every time someone gets called "hombre lobo". "Enorme hombre lobo!". For some reason genre shows translated to Spanish make me even happier. We used to watch Buffy: La Cazadora de Vampiros! in the cafeteria of the place where I did my study abroad, and it was pretty amazin.

- ... It's a good thing Matt is using soft-point bullets or Melissa would have gotten shot in the leg :( Guns are sad y'all.

- Allison's hunter clothes are cool. Allison is cool.

- "He's going to kill all of us when he gets that book, isn't he." "Yep." I love how Derek doesn't think for a moment that they're not all going to get murdered. So very in-character.

- What the shit is Matt's problem, seriously. Stiles also had panic attacks in middle school but HE didn't go and kill everyone, now did he.

- Bennett the Hunter is local to Beacon Hills, which raises some questions about their recruitment processes. Phnelt was asking yesterday how the hunter families keep going and we were wondering if hunter clans have arranged marriages or what. If there aren't any women in a generation of Argents, you have to get one to marry in, right?

- Okay, seriously, do Mr. Harris and Matt share a car? I am still so confused. Are they related? Matt got the oil changed on his car, maybe they wrote down the license number? WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH THE CAR. It occurs to me that much as I love this show it is probably not 100% my tv-watching skills that makes me confused as to what is happening in the plot.

- Though speaking of tv-watching skills I was wondering how Scott hauled Stiles out but not Derek and then I rewatched and Scott totally hesitated over trying to save both of them until Derek yelled at him to remove Stiles and leave him to die of kanima. Derek has many flaws but he is pretty good at SAVE YOURSELVES LEAVE MEEEEE. He does it pretty much all the time.

- How great is everything Allison does, for serious. ALLISON COME HERE LET ME SMELL YOUR PRETTY HAAAAAIR we can talk about vengeance killing and loving cute bunnies or whatever it is you do when you're not vengeance-killing. It really fucking sucks that she gets paralyzed and then pawed at by her stalker, dude. That's really scary.

- Stiles :( Stiles :( how I love you Stiles.

- I am just pretty sure that was Peter Hale in the surveillance video from the hospital.

- Gerard is actually playing the pack off against the hunters pretty hardcore. He has not shared any of the information Scott gave him with anyone else, has he? ... I am not good at watching tv, this all seems pretty new to me. I mean, I am pretty sure he a) is a werewolf b) bit Victoria c) may have been the kanima-master this whole time, but the degree to which he's been using Scott is pretty interesting. Five to one next episode we get another explanatory flashback in which we see some of Gerard and Scott's interactions.

- Personally I feel like Derek could find it in himself to forgive Scott for trying to protect his mother. But we know how I am all about Derek working through his Scott feelings - I think Derek's expectations of Scott have been way too high and he just needs to build more age-appropriate expectations. Would that mean going back and forgiving his teenage self for getting in way over his head? POSSIBLY. LIKELY. I don't think Derek's going to be able to learn from his mistakes at all until he actually acknowledges that he couldn't be 100% responsible for that, either. I think dude has just been doing one thing after another without really reflecting for like eight years. DEREK HALE YOU ARE INTERESTING.

- I really want to see what happens with Jackson, man. A lot.
