So I've been sitting around getting pretty fat. OK I'm not FAT, but I did put back on a lot of the weight I lost a year ago. I've been super lazy and just all around unhealthy. Reason? Nothing to motivate me. Bikinis aren't a real factor since living in NYC doesn't warrant one for most of the year unlike FL, and I have little money to take fun classes since I can't get myself to work out on my own at home. Oh my troubles are trivial, I know. There are revolutions in the world, politicians that need to be exiled, peoples liberties being challenged around the globe and all I care about is getting fat. 1st World problems. YAY!
Anywho, after doing some extensive thinking, I realize that whenever there is an event which requires me to get dressed up, I have the sudden urge to get moving. Why? NEW DRESS!!!! I've been obsessed with dresses on ModCloth.com. It's super hipster-y, but the dresses are awesome. Well, some of them are. A lot of their stuff is made for hipsters, but I admit that there are some things hipsters do right. I've bought two eyeshadow shades, a robot headphone splitter, and flower lamp from them already and so far I LOVE them all.
I've also purchased a new party dress:
I just got it in the mail today and it's not quite what I expected. It's more of a sky-blue than aqua (which is fine cuz I actually prefer it) and it has that weird puffy hem that's nothing like the photo. I also purchased a large since they listed it as running a bit small.

Now like you see, it basically fits. However, it's strapless and the top gives a little too much stretch for me to wear without having to constantly pull it up. I've decided to exchange it for a medium and see how that would fit. It would be a lot tighter and hopefully hold my boobs without causing a wardrobe malfunction.
Which is where Operation: Party Dress comes in to play. Event: I intend to wear this dress to Marc and Haley's wedding at the end of May. I need to fit into the dress perfectly. So now I have some motivation to lose some weight and get off my ass!!! XD I'm not 100% sure this will be "the" dress to wear since I'd have to try to imagine it to fit well after I lose about, say, 10 pounds. I also need to make sure my boobs won't look weird. (Forgot to mention the padding in the bust is a bit odd, but it's not obvious in the pic)
So now I have a goal. Once I get the medium I'll take more pics and report my progress. YAY!!! Keeping up through LJ will definitely motivate me. I definitely plan on taking on more communities (will do after this post is done!) and keep this open to everyone and maybe there'll be someone out there other than Sara to follow up on my goals =D
For starters, I'll need a regular work out regimen that won't be too regular since I get bored super easy. I have several Groupons for yoga, pole dance, and kick boxing that I purchased a while back that are in dire need to be redeemed. I've already begun my unlimited Monthly pass for Bikram yoga (hot, humid yoga. Blech.) so I'll be using that as often as I can allow myself. Along with that, I'll continue my Vinyasa yoga at another studio that offers a community class. Vinyasa works more with strength and Bikram works more for flexibility and endurance. I'm not crazy about Bikram cuz I HATE humidity. I left FL for a reason!! Didn't realize this before buying the groupon so I might as well keep using it and get my money's worth. I have another yoga thing to use with a massage, so I might treat myself to that later in my regimen as a reward. Kick-boxing and pole-dance can be combined next month since they are limited classes (about 3-4 each). All strength and endurance there ;)
Also, I've joined the Couch to 5K group here on LJ, and once I feel better about running outside (too cold and I'm not down for treadmills) I will start the program!! I also need to work out at home when I can, as well as when I have a layover. I need to get on that!!! I have weights and resistance bands that I never use. LOL
As for my diet.... I've decided to give up drinking beer all together. I never do it much anyway when I go out, and I have all this wine I just got so I ought to have some. But only one glass at a time =P It won't be easy cuz I do love beer and so does Jon. I also need to EAT. Right now I'm starved cuz I don't feel like going to my kitchen and whipping something up. I need to eat better and not snack on junk. I've been following a lot of Women's Health newsletters lately and I ought to start taking their advice.
So, Operation: Party Dress is on!!! I will do what I can to make this work!!!
Commencing now by heading to kitchen and getting some dinner!!
