Sad times.
My oldest brother, Eric Scott Sapienza, died at Jewish Hostpital on December 1st, 2006, aged 36 years. He had been hospitalized for about a week following a stroke induced by a septic blood infection. He lost conciousness and never regained higher brain functions. The exact cause of the infection is, as yet, unknown though we are reasonably certain signs of a problem were apparent before the day he had the stroke and believe there was considerable neglect on the part of the staff of Britthaven Nursing Home. The funeral will be held on Wednesday in Eastern Kentucky. He was a good man, who had suffered too much in his life to have it end so terribly. And the one responsible for this atrocity will be held accountable. If not by us now, then in the flames of Hell.
