My father recently requested an animal hat from me, so that he could use it to illustrate when explaining to people about my crocheting. When I asked what animal he'd like, and listed off a few as examples, he chose a frog. I usually use a fuzzy nylon yarn, but I had some of this cotton/modal yarn in my stash (it was supposed to be a border for a baby blanket, but the color didn't work right) that I thought would be more appropriate for the Florida climate. I also decided that a silly mouth would be a cute addition. I've e-mailed him a picture, so we'll see what he thinks.
Also, you may notice that there is a certain kitten in the picture as well. She is incurably curious, and so tends to magically appear whenever I pull the camera out. Getting a picture of her when the camera isn't out yet is challenging, though, because once she sees it, she immediately comes over to me.
