The Wrong Way to love

Once I was young and just as naïve

I could not imagine the pain love could bring

Then you gladly showed me they way

To all of the misery and all of the pain

You took me by laughter and you took me by love

But for you that lesson was never enough

You told me that I needed to grow

Before I could realize before I could know

Just what it meant to truly be in love

That to know that I loved you was never enough

Had to give you all that you asked

And never expect to get anything back

I needed to make you as happy as Zeus

But to expect it from you was just of no use

It was the way love was written for me

Then some one came along who made me to see

That love was gift given on both sides

My love was received and I was never denied

The feelings that came with each earth racking kiss

All of the gambits that I had missed

To be loved like a queen

It truly was not obscene

To want to be touched to hunger with need

To say what I wanted and finally be freed

I am learning what loving is truly for

And before he is finished I will willing learn more

And just so you know I thank you for showing

The wrong way to love with out ever knowing.
