Late entry

Jan 13, 2010 00:45

This was supposed to go on dA, but I think it's a bit too personal for that. This entry was hidden until March 16th.

1. What did you do in 2009 that you'd never done before?
Realizing lots of personal important things. Umm. And graduating, going to and quiting college, of course. :XD:

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I can't remember them very clearly, but I think I did. Planning on keeping them for this year, though they're more of a goal than they are a resolution.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
...I don't think so.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Yes.

5. What countries did you visit?
England and Germany.

6. What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009?
More (outer) confidence.

7. What date from 2009 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Oh, I don't know. The only dates coming to my mind are birthdays.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Making the decision to quit school and work to start up my own company.

9. What was your biggest failure?
I think I just did some stupid things in general. I can't name one big failure.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
No major things.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
I think my necklace I bought in St. Pauls Cathedral in London. It's a slight, silver necklace with a blue dove. It means a lot to me.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Someone who I'm not on good terms with, for stopping to hate me.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Oh, lots of people's.

14. Where did most of your money go?
I think... Books. Maybe clothing. Weird combination :XD: I must sound like a shallow book-nerd or something, hahaha. Hmm, yeah, I'm starting to like clothes moar. Giving in to my shallow side more lately, haha. I think it's good to outbalance my inner seriousness.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
My graduation; finally no more of that cursed high school. Also my trip to Paris with my mother, brother and boyfriend, and my trip to Koln with my sister. They were both really awesome. And I got excited about the new year.

16. What song will always remind you of 2009?
Oh, ugh, I don't know... Maybe... VAST - "Desert Garden" or Cosmo Canyon from the Final Fantasy VII Piano Collections. Kings of Leon - "Be Somebody" is also a very good option.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you
i. happier or sadder? happier, but I don't think the difference is that huge.
ii. thinner or fatter? fatter. But I honestly don't have a clue. I know friend who know me in real life are going to smack me for saying 'fatter', too :XD: I just don't care as much as I did last year, so I guessed I would probably be slightly fatter than last year.
iii. richer or poorer? richer

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Art! Manpips, ugh! I really, really want to get better.

19.What do you wish you'd done less of?
I have to agree with :devMysticHedwig: on this, which is doing nothing. ^^; I also wish I hadn't doubted myself so much and didn't spend so much of my time on stuff that don't matter (and I'm talking about deeper things than doing these memes as procrastination, for example).

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
This year? Uhh... :noes:

22. Did you fall in love in 2009?
Nope; not with anyone new at least. :aww:

23. How many one-night stands?
Haha, none! :XD:

24. What was your favorite TV program?
America's Next Top Model. I clean out my Monday evenings for that show. Oh, but I also enjoyed Project Runway a lot.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Nope, don't think so.

26. What was the best book you read?
Oh god, I don't know. If it was this year that I finished reading The Amber Spyglass (by Philip Pullman), then that one's high up the list. The end was so, so, so sad. It was more heartbreaking than The Time Traveler's Wife (by Audrey Niffenegger). That one's in the list, too, by the way. And I also really enjoyed The Host (by Stephenie Meyer). Yes, I know. I can't help that I love her books :XD: She shares my preference for good endings. I like that. It's comforting when all of the other books I read end dramatically and the two main characters who are in love can't see each other but oh maybe after 80 years or so.
Whooo, I'm ranting. Moving on...

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
VAST, definitely.

28. What did you want and get?
My high school diploma. Hell yeah. Also: loads of books. :la:

29. What did you want and not get?
A better world..? God damn you, world. :XD:

30. What was your favorite film of this year?
I have to say New Moon. I'm sorry :XD: I just looked really forward to it and it didn't disappoint me at all, so I was really happy with it. I loved the wolves.
I'm so sick of the whole hype though, so I feel pretty ashamed saying this, but, yeah. It's true. In two years, I'll be one of those hopeless, lifeless 20 year olds sitting in the cinema waiting for Breaking Dawn to begin. Yep.
I loved (Final Fantasy VII:) Advent Children Complete, too, though. I can't leave that one out.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I chilled with a few friends and went outside in the evening to make some photos. I became 18. It was a really relaxed, happy day :)

32.What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
I'm not the type of person to think about that stuff, so let me think. Hmmm. I don't know. I don't think I would want to change anything, really. It wasn't a perfect year, but the stuff that happened was meant to happen so, so be it.
Look, my answers are getting longer.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2009?
Uhh, I don't know. I got more interested in fashion, that's for sure. But I really just wear what I like.

34. What kept you sane?
My parents and music.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Another one I have to think about. I have a wonderful boyfriend, so my attention is not really focused on other boys, but let's see. You could say that I fancied Jonathan Rhys Myers. And a part very, very deep within me thinks that Robert Pattinson doesn't look too bad, either.
I can't think of any other name. Seriously. Oh! Maybe Justin Chon. Teehee.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
I don't think any in particular did, I'm just unhappy with things happening that are just not fair. People who deserve way better and the bad things happening to the world are just... frustrating. I'm so fed up with the way this world works sometimes.

37. Who did you miss?
Our great friend of the family who passed away.

38. Who was the best new person you met?
Ummm, let me think... Chantal, a new and now ex-classmate, and I could laugh and talk about Twilight a lot.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2009.
I was always aware of this fact, but I realized it more this year, due to the passing of our family friend and other things. That you need to appreciate every minute of this life. It can be over within seconds. Never, ever, take things for granted, certainly not life. I can't imagine myself thinking about planning my life until I'm 80, because I might not even reach 20. And I'm not a pessimist at all, but it's just true. I try not to get mad at myself for procrastinating or doing stupid things, because it's not worth my time. I accept it and get over it and do better next time.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
Do, you feel like I do
Tired of everything?
Can, you feel what I can
Almost everything?

I wanna leave today
The sky is big and my life small
I wanna leave with you
So we can build the perfect garden
