Creatine Monohydrate is becoming more amazing every time I do a loading phase. With molecular formula C4H9N3O2, with proper formatting of course, given I lack that skill, Creatine is a nitrogenous organic acid, found in vertebrates, and is known among bodybuilders to increase hydration of muscle cells, making them more markedly visible. But, I'm finding new reasons to absolutely love it. I spend most of my semester in some relatively-exhausted state, averaging between five and three hours of sleep a night, sometimes less, due to... well, I'm distractable and always working on something.
But... just check this out:
http://www.springerlink.com/content/f532267815204781/For those of you too lazy, I'll copy-paste the conclusion of the study, "Conclusions Following 24-h sleep deprivation, creatine supplementation had a positive effect on mood state and tasks that place a heavy stress on the prefrontal cortex."
"Prefrontal cortex"...does that sound familiar? Welcome to the home of cognition, expression of personality and decision making. For the hell of it, my loading phase is meeting up with finals week, so this should all be fun and anecdotal. I may be doing this on a more monthly basis, than once every other month like I have been... shall all be fun.
