Normally I don't do this kinda stuff but with the recent topic in the Clay Nation about Clay's new REALLY fugly shirt, I just have to point out some other really bad fashion faux pas he's made in the past 5 1/2 years. It's surprising how little he fits the gay stereotype, from ugly clothes choices to bad hair days where he doesn't care. I guess it's just a part of him that makes him that much more special. :)

Here we go. One of his first photoshoots on Idol. The dark hair looks awful and could he PLEASE get rid of those pooka shells!?

Steven Cujocaro should REALLY have helped him pick out shirts, not jeans...

I'm venturing back about 8 months or so to his first tour with Kelly Clarkson...because this jacket/pant combo, as much as I love it, is a little strange.......

I actually didn't understand this shirt when I first saw it but now I like it.
Just a demonstration of what they wore in the 70s...LOL
Moving into 2006, he's had 3 years of being in the industry...surely he must have picked up SOMETHING right? ... Maybe.

Can I say I LOVED the way he looked at the AMAs that year?
Okay sure stripes and dots but he's SEXY in a full tux!
Okay so maybe he looks fine here but..I'm still not crazy about that suit...I dunno what it is..
But he pulled it off as WICKED sexy in West Point..I'll say it's cause he lost the tie and unbuttoned the top of his shirt. Oh and his hair was perfection. (Great job, Jamie!)

A couple right off the bat early in the year!
2nd appearance on Kimmel..at vest..good god!
He actually didn't do too bad on tour that summer...solid color button downs and jeans..the only thing I might question is this track suit at the busline..
At least it it's a set.
He still has problems with his ties. This was probably his least-best look of the year...and look, return of the Waukegan suit!
This is pretty good... he made a surprise appearance at a Steven Curtis Chapman concert and probably had to dress himself.
I bet he had help here (Neil Sedaka tribute) but you know what? I don't care! He looked AMAZING!
Fugly argyle sweater at the holiday skating special rehearsals *sigh*
At least he cleaned up nice!
He did have a Christmas tour but wore the same thing every night...and looked great! *thud*
2008! We made it! And with fewer bad choices...amazing! Watch out for that stage door appearance after Spamalot though... oh dear.
He became addicted to outfits like this:
OH NO! Look what returned!!!!
But really he preferred his college hoodies with track pants and that's fine with me... UNC Charlotte, Kentucky, Brown, Princeton, and Carolina (3 versions!!!) we saw the most of...
Then he went and wore this in March....for American Idol...oh god (tie familiar much?)

What he wore on GMA wasn't too bad...

Wasn't a fan of this outfit either in a photoshoot for the Associated Press...
But he looked GREAT on the streets of Santa Monica on his iPhone..
Hold on...is that the shirt and tie from Leno in 2004!? If it's not, it's pretty dang close...
I don't think he'll ever stop wearing shirts like this:
Nor stop wearing weird ties...
But as of now, he's done pretty good with his clothes at stage door now that he's back in Spamalot... up until last night that is.

This was pretty fun. I think tomorrow I'll have a post dedicated to pics of him in his hoodies. He's such a hoodie ho it's not even funny.
