Meme! Because why not, I haven't updated in a while and who doesn't like talking about themselves. Borrowed from

Username: As you can see,
sky (if you're reading this on my LJ mirror, it's saoru lol)
What you can call me: I usually go by Loren. Sky is also okay.
My default icon explained: Right now, it's Xerxes Break and Sharon Rainsworth from Pandora Hearts. Aren't they cute ; w ; If you don't know the characters -- he's a witty, shady joker type, she's a young noblewoman, they're not related and not dating but probably the most important person in each other's lives.
Sexuality: Romantic asexual. I suppose "panromantic" comes closest to describing me, but it gets fuzzy from there. I think I said this in a previous meme, but I am more aesthetically attracted to androgynous males and more romantically attracted to females.
Gender: Female.
Preferred pronouns: Female.
Other platforms I'm on: Mostly Plurk and Livejournal (links in my profile).
Favorite books: Fantasy novels are my favorite -- ones that immediately come to mind include the Dragonlance Chronicles, the Eddings' Belgariad/Malloreon, Lynn Flewelling's Nightrunner series, Tanya Huff's The Fire's Stone, and Scott Lynch's Gentleman Bastard series (though I have a love-hate relationship with the last one there lol).
Favorite movies: My all-time favorite is The Princess Bride, but I don't watch a lot of movies. Not my preferred form of storytelling, they're just too short.
Favorite TV shows: Right now my favorite is Ao no Exorcist. Sherlock was pretty good too.
Favorite songs: My all time favorite track by my all time favorite band is Malice Mizer's Bel Air/Vert Aile ~Kuuhaku no Toki no Naka de~. The ones I have stuck in my head all the time lately are Athanasia's Reignition and Hiyama Kiyoteru's Guilty Verse (a Vocaloid track by Ren:G).
Languages I know: English native, Japanese decently, a pathetic amount of Mandarin lol.
Occupation: I do some freelance translation work but basically I'm unemployed. Still looking, of course.
Location: USA.
Pets: I have the best kitty :> He's a tabby/Siamese mix with super soft silver & cream-colored fur and blue eyes. He's really affectionate, social, likes being with people, and is very easygoing... except when he gets bored and decides to bite you until you play with him lol...
Favorite food: There's so many I can't choose D8 Some of my faves are Japanese curry, pizza, apples, anything mochi, cheesecake, black tea, oolong tea, cola, masala chai, barbecue chips, salmon...
A long-term goal: I live in a very rural area now; I'd like to establish myself in an urban one.
A short-term goal: Decide whether to do a master's in TEFL or not.
My superpower would be: Stopping time!!! It would solve so many problems :|
Favorite animals: Cats ; w ; Dogs are okay too but I'm really not a dog person. I also find reptiles pretty cool though I wouldn't want one for a pet.
Hobbies: Mostly online roleplaying XD Also fandom obviously, and translation. I suppose learning languages falls under a hobby. I also love to travel, though I rarely get to do it.
How I would describe my personality: Overall pretty calm. I may get a little angry or a little sad but it's rare that I'll be significantly moved from that calm baseline. I can never stay mad for long or hold grudges even if I really want to. :|a I hate fighting and it really bothers me when the people around me aren't getting along... Also I suppose I look like the quiet type most of the time, but when I'm with people I know well or talking about something that interests me, I can get pretty talkative. I'm much more outgoing online than I am in person; I tend not to express my opinions IRL because I'm used to just not being listened to, I suppose. :/ Overall I'd say I'm just pretty go-with-the-flow and try to be easygoing and friendly.
