D.Gray-man 189
My translation for DGM 189 is out.
THE FOURTEENTH IS AMAZING. AND SHINY. AND I WANT HIM TO HAVE MY BABIES. FOURTEENTH ILU.
...although this makes me slightly, vaguely worried that Allen really will be FAINARU BOSU after all ಠ_ಠ but that probably won't happen so OMG FOURTEENTH
That psychotic HELL YEAH I'M GONNA CONQUER THE WORLD BITCH grin was just... hello nurse. I mean. He's got the Earl sitting on top of him choking him and his reaction is not just calm, but absolute self-assured arrogance. HOW AMAZING/LOLTASTIC/AMAZING IS THAT. No wonder Cross probably got mixed up with this guy, they're practically the same person fffffff. (That would be a nice conspiracy theory in the making, haha, though I don't find it likely)
Also after this chapter I can just... no longer say I dislike Kanda anymore. XD; No matter how much his fangirls drive me crazy. Not only was he hilarious, he was pretty brilliant here. And man, I really felt for him. I loved how absolutely nothing at all got to him until Rhode mentioned 'that person' that he's been trying to find (and kill, I'm guessing?) for so long... Also for those of you reading at Onemanga, yes, the woman who made Kanda kill Alma = "that person". Rhode specifically uses the phrase 'that person', in quotation marks, to make sure nobody could possibly miss it. GOOD JOB, GUYS, GOOD JOB.
And in general can I just say that the entire tone of this chapter was gold. I was not expecting to have the Noahs' inhumanly evil plan turned on its head by Kanda acting like a doof, I was not expecting Allen and Tyki to spend half the chapter standing on the Earl, and I was not expecting a pissy Allen to lecture the Earl and 14th about their family problems. 8D; IT WAS AMAZING. And yet in the midst of all that crack, things still managed to feel deathly serious when they needed to. I've always loved how this series careens back and forth between stark horror and lulz, and although I still don't like the art changes, storytelling-wise I feel like Hoshino's starting to get back in proper form.
So in conclusion... I'm looking forward to finding out where this arc will go, I'm excited to see what happens now that Allen knows Kanda's true nature, and SHERRILL IS A KINKY PERVERT. ♥♥♥
