I`m being paid $150 a day to do nothing. I sit at my desk, surf the internet and run errands with my supervisor to get settled in. Im bored though, and tired. I need coffee. and a pon de ring.
This weekend, Im going to explore this city with my friend Ken. Maybe we`ll take a coastal drive. theres a fireworks festival too, and I kind of want to check that out, but I dont want to deal with the train to get there.
Yesterday, we had to set up a Japanese bank account and the bank people had to call their head office because they couldnt fit my entire name on the card. we got it all settled though, and I put ten cents into my account to start. I love that you can do that in Japan.
Another really cool thing here is that when you get repairs done on your car, the shop drives to your house, picks up your car, leaves theirs in your cars place, and when its done, they drive your car back to you. I think thats great, why dont they do that in the US?
I rode my bike to work today. I almost got ran over, of course, but it was a nice ride. It was kind of awkward though, because I miscalculated and got there really early. so it was just me and the vice principle at first.
the administrators are kind of cold here, and I dont know what they are expecting of me. and I havent really been talking to too many people. Japanese people are too nervous to speak English and right now, I`m too nervous to speak Japanese. So it makes for wierd interaction.
I want to see the other schools that I`ll be teaching at. I have no idea about those schools at all, and no one will tell me when I start there.
I hate anticipation.
