I've lately been reading a wonderful book by Elisabeth Elliot (I've yet to read a book by her that's not wonderful!) called The Shaping of a Christian Family...and came across some great quotes...they're not quotes FROM the author (those would be too hard to choose...too many great ones to choose from!), but are quotes from others with which Elisabeth's books are usually liberally sprinkled.  The poem, "Doe the Nexte Thynge" in the previous post, I also found in this book.  Enjoy...!

"Therefore we come, Thy righteousnes our cover,
Thy precious Blood our one, our only plea.
Therefore we come, O Savior, Master, Lover.
To whom, Lord, could we come save unto Thee?"
~Amy Carmichael

"The highest conditon of the human will is when, not seeing God, not seeming to grasp Him at all, we yet hold Him fast."
~George MacDonald

"My faith burns low, my hope burns low;
Only my hearts desire cries out in me,
By the deep thunder of its want and woe,
Cries out to Thee."
~Christina Rossetti

"LORD, You have been our dwelling place in all generations." ~Psalm 90:1
