Fanfic Title: Aki-Autumn

Genre: general
A/N: Saiyuki and Sanzo aren't my creations (damn). If I did own them, I would be one lucky person.<3

It was that time of year again. The leaves were dyed in crimson, vermillion, and gold. It was Hakkai's idea to walk through the forest. Goku was mesmerized by the seasonal beauty around him. Gojyo walked next to Hakkai, while Sanzo lagged behind.

The priest lit up a Marlboro. Seeing the dying leaves descending to the ground brought back what was left of the "good" memories before he was thirteen...

"Kouryuu, come here for a moment." The voice of his former master beckoned to him. It was a warm autumn day and he was outside, sweeping the temple grounds.

"I need you to gather as many leaves as you can. Tonight, I'm thinking about having some yaki-imo (roasted sweet potatoes) before it gets dark."

"Yaki-imo?" The boy looked at Komyou Sanzo in puzzlement. The priest chuckled and gave a gentle smile to him.

"Don't worry it's quite delicious. I haven't have one in quite awhile." Later on that day, Kouryuu swept up a large pile of leaves. The plume of red and gold lit up the grounds.
"Here, Kouryuu." Komyou fished the finished imo out for him.

"--zo. Sanzo!" Goku's voice snapped him back to reality.
"What now?"
"Let's eat some yaki-imo!"
"If that's alright with you, of course." Hakkai added. "I bought some imo at the last town."

Sanzo ground out his cigarette under his foot. "Sure, why not."

Seiyaryu: This was actually more of a drabble than a fanfic. This is my second Saiyuki-related writing. And also, for everyone, ganbatte!!!
