Just back from Birmingham, an essential errand accomplished.
I saw the Zodiac Players' version of Dracula tonight. It was not good. The set was shit (things fell off the wall during the show), the acting was quite unconvincing (by the end of the show Dracula had developed an Austrian accent), and the directing was substandard(moments of brilliance were overshadowed by poor blocking in the last scene). That being said, I did have fun. Just as the lights were going up for the final scene an actor tripped over a set piece and sent a table full of curios bounding across the stage. Favorite lines from the show include "will you please do that to me when I'm dead?", "the answer is blowing in the wind my friend", and "Ahhhhhhhhhhh, the keys! The keys!" (ok, the last quote wasn't in this particular show. But it should have been.)
