That's all I've got for now... but I'm still brainstorming, 'cause I'd like to reach at least 100.
Spent yesterday at a BBQ with two of my closest high school friends - one who I hadn't seen in three years, so that was great! The other one (the one whose house we spent the day/evening at) I've done a fairly good job at staying in touch with, and she's pretty much my favorite person ever, in so many ways. Her family is the sweetest, most humble, non-materialistic, LOVING group of people ever. They just really value simplifying in life and I've never seen a group of people with such a sincere love for family. Growing up, I think I found it all a little goody-goody, but now that I've been away from the small-town bubble for a few years, it just seems so clear that they've got 100% the right focus in life. Anyways, we spent the evening eating amazing, homemade summery food, playing badmitton (aka laughing endlessly at the crazy physical hijinks that resulted from our really bad athletic abilities), listening to fun music (their house is one of those places that always has Happy-Days-style 50's jukebox music playing in the background...), and getting way too into Guesstures. I know I'm down to only a few weeks left in Maine before The Big Move, but I keep finding more and more things I love here, that I'm really going to miss.
Played around with clay this morning (my mom has a kiln/wheel in the basement for her pottery business - I never really think to use it though because I figure that it's "always right there"). I'd like to do it more though - it's one of those things that I think would be really fun to be good at. Okay, I'm off - my high school BFF's college graduation party is in a few hours, so my mom and I are going to that. I'm really looking forward to seeing her whole extended family, because they always were a second family of sorts growing up (we've been best friends since first grade).
Ooooh, AND... Big Brother tonight!! Apparently they're going "back to basics" with no major twists, etc., which I think is PERFECT. Can't wait!
