Since this fic was first submitted, I've been eager to read it and only now have I finally sat down to enjoy this piece. The format was unusual, the POV uncommon and the presentation to the reader very different from the norm, which made it that much more appealing to me. And, I am so very happy that this fic was what I was really hoping to read. The word play and choices were delicious for the reader, and the feeling/mood/atmosphere so very perfect the way you've painted the scenes. I especially liked the first and last sections, with Sanada. And his metaphoric cape. And the tension Kirihara has with his senpais, too.
"What do you think, Marui?" Sanada walks over, puts his palm on your head and says matter-of-factly, "He's my protégé, don't you know?"
At first, the above line was very strange to me, but reading it again, and again, I really, really like it. It's so unusual. And I love the physical possession of the gesture. And Sanada one-upping Marui. It's nice to see Sanada so...confident.
This is probably becoming a veritable babble, but author-san, thank you so much for taking the time to create this fic. It was a fabulous--and enjoyable read, and so very erudite too!
Did I shock you when I submitted my fic way too early before deadline? Actually I was having my finals in two weeks' time so I fretted over the clashing dates and was determined to plough through the writing process quickly in order to get on with revision and life in general. Also, I must confess I did not get a beta and now I can spot mistakes in several places, so I have to apologise for that, too.
You have no idea how honoured and grateful I am to receive your comment because I admire you and your writing a lot. As usual, I am pretty much at a loss for words, but I am honestly, honestly so flattered.
