Futureverses usually make me so sad, as does the fashion world. Atobe as Ryoma’s agent, heh. Unless there is this sexual attraction between them, I can’t see Ryoma selling his body and obnoxious soul this way. And Nanjiro seems to have gone from bad to worse, what about the mother!? This smells of family “drama”. Hmmm...
However, both Ryoma and Atobe were so perfectly in character that I didn’t mind at all. Their verbal exchange was superb, every line so calculated and priceless. I loved how Atobe kept Ryoma on his territory constantly, and when he finally agreed to play tennis with him, and did not so well, his excuse for not playing tennis anymore was quite plausible.
I loved to see Seigaku’s gathering and I loved Momo bringing Kaidoh to the game. The whole “girlfriend” issue was funny, as were the jokes of Kaidoh as Momo’s girlfriend and Atobe as Ryoma’s. The latter became true, now I wonder about the former... (Naaa! It’s OK if he truly has a girlfriend but he seems so keen on keeping up the Seigaku gatherings.)
The White Cherry Ginger Smile Tea was a nagging element all through the story, and I was truly in awe of the way it materialized:
"Not as good as I remember." "Nothing is," Atobe says. "Except me."
Brilliant, just brilliant.
And I particularly liked the humanizing detail of Atobe sleeping, exhausted, inside his limousine. That won Ryoma over too, didn't it?
I liked this story very much! It was genially crafted and so much IC that it hurt, it really did. Great job.
