We are all of us haunted and haunting; more lame crap, longer this time
note: colors, words, a trip to the grocery store; a spark and sometimes I catch the bits and pieces of a story. this is the first of at least two quick oneshots named after the fact for old prompts at

and if you read the story as them breaking up, then nobody dies. ;A;

I guess when Jjong abruptly stopped his sentence there is no -- and then Kibum entered the scene? So basically Kibum didn't feel any of Jinki presence while Jjong thought Jinki's hiding. Why would Jinki hide I thought. So it's only in Jjong's mind.
Idk, I didn't see it as breaking up fic, maybe I tend to like if it;s sad I want it as sad as possible, or happy as happy as possible. Haha.

I think this transition is probably the key point, when Kibum enters the picture and Jinki goes away, because then you get a contrast between the two. It's interesting that of the four commenters so far, one person saw only the breakup, one person is confused between the two, and two of you saw only the ghostly version. But definitely, the mindset the reader matters in the interpretation.
(Jinki would potentially hide because it'd be awkward to meet his ex's new boyfriend, especially given the sort of character that he is in this story. ...but again, it's one of those "is this a drawing of a young woman or an old lady" type of thing.)

True, people would intepret anything as their minds wanted to. :)

I didn't push his character as Jjong's new boyfriend since I needed to accommodate both interpretations of the plot. In the breakup version, he is the (potential) next boyfriend, whereas in the delusion version, as you've rightly pointed out, he's the worried best friend.
...I find that I like to write Kibum as a supportive character who, in some manner or other, fusses after/mothers the protagonist: him in Anosmia/Countdown, him in I would rather be a bird without wings, and now him in this. xD

I don't like it as much as my first Onkey though. :x
(Oh, that Onkey is up for interpretation too! Haha~)
