Haha I'm sure everybody has something that they're a little OCD about. xD; The need to be in control of where everything is (and an almost territorial sense when it comes to your room?) -- I can empathize with that! I don't like my stuff being moved around without me knowing...which has been a driving force in my straightening things out from time to time, just so nobody else would have reason to.

The fatal flaw is that he thinks too little of himself (and perhaps too much of Minho). You know the story about Pygmalion and his statue right? How he idolized it and admired it so much that he prayed to Venus to bring her to life? Admittedly, I find it a little confusing as well why Jinki/Pygmalion would make Minho in his likeness, because that would imply bringing Adonis (back) to life, making it a semi-continuation of the previously-made Adonis and Aphrodite analogy (found in "catharsis"). I mean, right after that, he says Aphrodite wouldn't care for a pale imitation and so Minho wouldn't love him...which would make Minho Aphrodite instead. Idk. I just took this in a kinda disjointed context, where in this second part the roles switch and Minho is Aphrodite, who only has eyes for the perfect Adonis, and not for someone like him who is 'worthless' in comparison.

The general message makes sense that way though, especially if you look at "catharsis". Jinki makes the parallel between Minho & himself, and Aphrodite & Hephaestus. Pretty obvious that he sees himself as Hephaestus -- a lame (the physically flawed kind) God who, in one version of the myth, was cast out of Olympus by his own mother due to her disgust -- and Minho as Aphrodite -- beautiful and desirable to Gods and humans alike. Key tells Jinki to confess but he doesn't dare to: Hephaestus and Aphrodite are consorts, but he doesn't feel like Minho could ever reciprocate his feelings because Aphrodite cheats on Hephaestus... a lot, lol. And then Aphrodite and Adonis -- Jinki/Aphrodite is deeply enamored by Minho/Adonis' perfection but can't truly have him because Adonis must live with Persephone for 1/3 of the year. And ultimately, Adonis is killed, so he/Aphrodite can't have him period.

So yes. My take on it: self-image issues.

Haha I like your simile! xD And giving an appearance to something that's heard. But yes, I was surprised too. Well, the other way around, because he was already doing pretty well around their Lucifer comeback, so I thought he'd always been like this. But then I went to check their old stuff and I was like o__o wow, what a difference! Can't think of any other idol that has grown so much over the years.

Do you plan on attending a local university?

Haha yeah at the time I read it, I only knew some of the stories because damn it's a lot of mythology. But I think it's possible to be drawn to it even without the understanding all the analogies. The Trojan War might have a bit of a historical basis, I don't know, scholars and people disagree over whether there actually was a war. That's the thing though, mythology is born in part from history and the further back you trace the events, the harder it becomes to distinguish between the two.

Nooo Pygmalion's story is separate from that of Aphrodite and Adonis (although Aphrodite/Venus is the one who granted Pygmalion's wish of bringing his statue to life). Well, overall, it's pretty clear how little he thinks of himself. And on top of that, like you said, he thinks Minho's too good for him. Actually, if you go further back to "chorus", you can see it isn't limited to Minho. He compares himself and Jonghyun to Castor and Pollux: "You will not be the Castor to his Pollux, you cannot, will not drag down him down to Styx. He’s worthy of more, he could become so much more if only he hadn’t gotten his voice so hopelessly tangled up in yours." Castor and Pollux are 'twin' brothers, but Castor's father is a mortal king (I forget who) while Pollux is Zeus' son and hence divine. When Castor gets killed, Pollux voluntarily shares half of his immortality with his brother, but that means he can't live in Olympus and be all godly forever. The two of them must also spend time in the underworld -- hence "dragging Pollux down to Styx". Jonghyun offers him comfort and he's all guilty about it. :(

Yeah, definitely. There's this stiff/concentrated? face that Taemin makes when he's anxious/not at ease, and he also blinks furiously (I remember watching his audition video!). Over the years it has gotten a lot better, but even after he became comfortable on stage, I remember in the period where he first began singing stuff on his own, he still couldn't help his face. But he's doing better and better. :3 /pats the boy on the head

Wait, so being in IB (the correct preposition is dans, I think) made you not want to live in your city? Il y a plusieurs facteurs que toi et ta familles doivent considérer, you know, finances, how competitive of an environment you want, would you like a university town or do you want real city life, freedom and independence etc. Trouve une option qui te convient. Moi, j'ai déménagé, but do you mean ici as in le pays ou ta ville?

No Canadian should fail to recognize 1867... And no American should have a question mark over his/her head at the mention of 1776. A long time ago I used to get the 67 and 76 mixed up, but hey, that's understandable right? ^^; History is chalked full of names and dates that it's crazy. Unless you deal with it on a regular basis, you're bound to lose the info once you're done with the course.

Variety show is...yeah. You have to take risks and you have to actually succeed with those attempts in order to look good in them. :/ Speaking of reactions, there are so many hilarious Jjong gifs from Star King and stuff. Guess he gets practice living with Sangtae Boy. xD Do you regularly watch some variety shows or only when our boys are on them? Do you follow any other groups closely?

I think it's a matter of growing up -- you realize that there really is a whole world out there and you really can go to places. :') Have you ever gone to far away places en vacances? Have you visited toutes les provinces? Un jour, je voudrais visiter l'Europe! *__* Had a pen pal of sorts in Hungary for a short while, so that only made me keener on traveling. Mais such a voyage coûtera une petite fortune, I'd imagine. Not to mention the likelihood of being mugged si je ne suis pas assez prudent... You know, tu peux aller sur l'échange pendant un an de your undergrad. I know people who applied to go to universités en Europe. Just an idea! 8)

Haha everyone is flawed, misconceptions/skewed facts abound, and hey, these tidbits of trivia may be mean but no one can deny that they are interesting! And it's Jean Chrétien. ;) I remember watching those Youtube videos poking fun at American politicians (and Americans in general really) for their ignorance regarding Canadian things -- there was one where the host person spoke to Bush Jr. and I forget who about their thoughts on working alongside Canadian Prime Minister Jean "Poutine". xD;;

SGB was fun! (Onew and his "bragging about my wife is my specialty" idiom!) I tend to only watch things with SHINee in them as well, but I've seen a few other things, mainly random cuts of things such as 당연하지 (the "of course" game) segments from X-Man. Sometimes it's hard finding subs on Youtube because of the broadcast stations blocking things left and right.

Pendant est correcte. /thumbs up. Traveling is a bonne idée, even better if you're not a pure tourist. This Quebec programs sounds like une bonne chance de vivre sans l'aide de ta famille and see how you like it. Is the Europe thing also a program? Le programme d'échange que j'ai mentionné est pour une année scolaire entière (ou bien pour un semestre) where you take a full load of equivalent courses at a particular université (and not just européenne ones). The specifics (and if the opportunity even exists) would depend on ton université de rattachement et ses partenariats.

That guy (and the cameraman too) is amazing for keeping a straight face while saying all those ridiculous things! lol xD I actually do like poutine. :9 It looks nasty (or at least nasty after you've disturbed the thing by eating some of it) but I am never one to be deterred by appearances of food. And well, as long as you don't eat too much of it all at once, the greasiness doesn't make you sick. What other foods are distinctively Canadian? Beaver tails?

I know Arashi, but I didn't follow them. In fact, in terms of male acts, I only followed Jrock bands... (GIANT CONTRAST WITH KPOP BOY BANDS, like, even just musical-style-wise lol). I did -- do -- listen to female jpop soloists though. :') How did you get into kpop?

Il y a plusieurs façons de dire «I'm excited», par exemple, j'ai hâte, je suis emballée, il me tarde..., je suis enthousiaste, etc. I'm guessing you said je suis excitée? xD; Because that's the one that can potentially carry a...sexual connotation, lmao. Ah, vraiment? Super! I want to tour Europe too ;A; but I'll probably have midterms to study for during my break. =_=
