Mostly art-related

My dance classes have been going well. It's a small attendance this time, between 8-12 people; this week we only had five. There's an incredibly varied skill level, from people who have never tried really moving to others who have taken it two semesters already and execute the movements with ease & grace. This class, though, really practices, and has since week one. Usually it seems to take them a couple of weeks to get into it before they start improving on their own- this group comes up to me the next week and is so well improved it's wonderful. And some of them are really connected into it, too- telling me the responses their muscles have had from week to week, move to move, what's easy and why the difficult things are.  It's been very encouraging and helpful to have a class so responsive-- this way I actually know what they are picking up on and what needs work.
I find that I am regaining confidence in my own dance. I think my technique has been suffering since I had to take so much time off for classes/work/the wedding, and i am finally switching back to the right gear. Technique definitely still needs some refining, but it's much easier when you aren't fighting against yourself to do it.
The first song of my two-part solo is choreographed. I'm sure it will be changed as I go along with it, but I'm happy to have accomplished that much. Just being able to sit down and drill & choreograph for myself is a decent accomplishment for me. I'm still keeping my eyes out for a time I could actually perform it.

In non-dance news, the deck of cards project that I drew a joker for is completed.  It's very cool, a large undertaking, and there are some amazing artists involved with it. Take a look.

I also think I have an idea for my nano. Just a main character and a couple of images flashing through my head, no details yet, but it's more than I had before. I'll let it incubate for a while longer and report back.

nano, art, wiggling
