You'd almost think I liked flowers or something.

I like this one. It's currently living as my background- can I tell you that maybe only three, four of my other pictures have ever graced my desktop? I have very little patience for my own work, but I'm starting to gain confidence- and, judging by the looks of my earliest dublin popes, skill besides.
The flowers were given to me by andy's grandmother. They're a wild bunch, everything from late spring to autumn bursts, but I think these were my favorite out of all of them.
We had both sets of his grandparents (and a great-aunt) over for dinner on Saturday, thus the flowers. (I love that tradition. She gave me flowers, another gave me banana bread; it makes me glad that I remember to bring things for the holiday celebrations. Of all of the old traditions, i think that is one of my favorites- it reminds me all at once of the victorian era and also of the wonderful circles of women you find in the bellydance art world & the small ways they reach out to each other. Yay, women.)
We've had plenty of people over at one time or another, but it was our first time entertaining. That part, I didn't like so much. It went splendidly, I loved having them over, but the entire morning & afternoon before that was running around like mad trying to cook and clean, and I am the most resentfully domestic person. and all that on my only satuday off! But it went very well- the food was excellent- andy made beef brisket & barbecue sauce, i made mashed potatoes & cornbread  & yummy dark chocolate cherry brownies.

Dance class starts next week- I think i was more ready for it last month than I am now. I need to get my music compilations ready, because I'm sick of last semester's. A lesson plan would be good, too. I am determined to go into this more consistantly prepared than last time.  Don't have a whole lot of people signed so far- only seven? And megan has ten? It's kind of unbelievable, the classes are usually packed full. (last semester I had twenty-seven!) Registration will probably double in the next week, though.

I want to be a bellydancer when I grow up.
I keep looking at different venues & performance dates & realising how much we, or even I, can't do anything until we get choreography down. Especially with how last-minute everything is. I guess that's the way to go, for now...

I'll update on work once I know what's happening. Hopefully I should answers on things in the next week.
