Love it!!! I might be way off base here, but to me this has almost a dream-like quality like John has gone back somehow to when the boys were young and had the chance to say and do the things that he should have the first time.

Aww... thanks! And while it wasn't a 'time-travel' fic per say; I had intended it to feel 'dreamy' as you so beautifully described it. For John, his reality is hunting monsters... so when he finally comes home for a spell and interacts with his boys it does feel like an alternative reality to him.
